How many of you saw him in a game in 2018, other than the spring game, against a live defense? It's the last game he was in that wasn't any more live than the practices are, and regardless of the run being taken away, he still was overthrowing wide open guys while under no pressure like the live games of last year. That's the concern. And taking away the run, well, you could say that's like what he was vs Bama... Since they are always very strong at run defense.
And like Notre Dame, it "rained on both sides"...i.e. the run was taken from ALL QB's and Trevor even did more in the rush. It was not a game that eased any concern of improvement, it actually looked like regression. The games now have to be that proof.

Every player I've heard interviewed has said KB is the best

QB on this team right now. So, between Dabo saying that and also CW, DLaw and Clelin saying the same thing, I'm on board with KB being our starter right now.
Now if TL comes in against TXA&M's first team and does what DW4 did against UGA, then we gotta have a talk.

Ok, so the boys he walked in with are the go to for truth? I guess you forgot younger years, where you back your boys, not the new guy to come around? I'd take the veteran players talks to be then backing the guy they went to battle with last year. You expect them to do anything other than that?? Be honest with yourself about that.
Plain and simple, KB is the best guy to start game 1... He has the experience. He's done nothing yet to lose it direct, and when two are good, it should be earned live in front of everyone... Not in the background.

You're arguing with me, yet we agree at the end. Very odd response, man.

Just saying I wouldn't put the players opinions in that. All you named are veterans in the team, who will back other veterans... They want him to get the shot like they'd want the shot. What do the WR's want? Renfrow seemed impartial... How about Tee? Amari? Justyn? All I'm saying.
The coaches make more sense to discuss. The players, could be closeness, personal things to why they say what they say, especially the vets. We agree otherwise.

What would your opinion be if they said TL should start?

The veterans, I mean... Because I don't recall any veterans coming to plate for Cole Stoudt.

Wouldn't have one. Games will still be what tells who really is. But you don't really think they'd ever blast their guy like that, do you? Again, they all walked in together, they all want to go out on a high note together. Makes sense.

Not unless TL was far and away the better option right now.

but if that was the case, Dabo would've named him the starter and the defensive guys would've said "Trevor is our boy"

Did Dabo ever say Kelly was way better yet? Everything I'm reading, he said they were really really close and now it has to go to games. Honestly, he hinted that 3 weeks ago, when he said if they are even, the senior gets the nod. Now you have to question if he was saying that 3 weeks ago, are you too sure Kelly "won" it vs Trevor just hasn't played in any games yet to show he's a game manager? A leader? Do you really show you are a game manager and leader in a practice? Or a game?
The coach speak I hear sounds like Trevor has checked off everything equally to Kelly, minus showing he can lead a team in a game atmosphere, manage a game, and have game experience & confidence.... All game related. Actually, I believe that's the 3 things Elliott mentioned were all Kelly is ahead of in today's interview. And that's the coaches themselves.

Because it's fun to watch your shriveled up body get so worked up about me, being as obsessed as you are.... And the fact you know you can't argue anything I've said with any backup that sounds reasonable. Please, for the 100th time likely, what up there did I say that is inaccurate? That video doesnt show?
Have you heard Dabo say practices were live? Did Lawrence not get more in the rush than Kelly in the spring game? How about the pass? Is taking away the run not a simulation of what Bama does to teams (ask Gallman, Watson)? Do people in similar situations not back their own (vet leaders back vet leaders)?

Yeah. And Nuk Hopkins said Savage was his qb... until he wasn’t and Watson was starting. Players back the coaches pick for starting qb
Let me flip the question to you. Do you actually believe it’s possible KB has improved more since the spring game in his throwing etc then he has in all those years at Clemson?

Why not sit tight for a few more days and you can judge with your own eyes. I have seen this same argument for eight months with the very same points being made on both sides. Can we not agree to disagree for for a few days and enjoy game week?

I was at the scrimmage in DV a couple of weeks ago.

Just a casual fan's perceptions:
Kelly was impressive. His performance compared to that in the spring game was night-and-day. He hit vertical throws and out routes. He had, as I recall, two overthrows (I am compelled to note that TL also had two overthrows). I do not recall if KB hit or attempted any back shoulder throws; I do recall that TL hit Tee with a beautiful back shoulder. This component of our offense was absent in 2017.
I left the spring game thinking TL would be the starter against Furman. I left the scrimmage thinking KB will be the starter. I believe this year's receivers will also help any QB. A lot.
TL;DR summary:
* KB was much improved over the spring game. * TL is a stud. * Don't sleep on Chase Brice. * Our receivers would make even me look like an All-SEC-East QB. * The only question is can KB maintain a high level of play over the course of the season? If not, we're still in great shape. * This is the best time in history to be a Tiger. Don't miss it squabbling about this or that.
