Food for Thought on Baseball

Mar 14, 2021, 4:57 PM

Here are facts based on the many posts calling for better baseball. Providing a comparison of Legget (last 5 years) and Lee (Last 4 full years), I have concluded that Legget's results were unacceptable to the administration at Clemson. You would think Lee must maintain a program with better results than Legget. Therefore those wishing to compare stats can do so in this post.

Listed as follows; Year, Overall Record, ACC Record, NCAA tourney appearance(T*)
Legget
2011: 43-20, 17-13, T*
2012: 35-28, 16-14,
2013: 40-22, 18-12,
2014: 36-25, 15-14, T*
2015: 32-29, 16-13

Legget winning percentage: Overall 60%, ACC 55%

Lee
2016: 44-20, 16-14, T*
2017: 42-21, 17-13, T*
2018: 47-16, 22-8, T*
2019: 35-26, 15-15,
2020 season incomplete

Lee winning percentage: Overall 67%, ACC 58%

I am sure some can argue their points both ways. Obviously Lee is slightly above the winning percentages that got Legget fired. If Lee doesn't turn things around this season however, he may drop below Legget.
