Usually catch the first crappies on the 1st of March and none yet. And different knowing I won't have the ol' fishing/hunting buddy sitting on my pier telling me that I need more "straing" on my reel to reach a fish that we saw jump.

I didn't catch anything yesterday. Fished for about 30 minutes. Had a hit or two but no bites!!

I did catch a bass about 2 pounds on my crappie jig early this morning - walk out on the pier every hour or so just to make sure a school of fish isn't swimming past. Rain starting now with a little thunder so I am back inside - one day off work & already bored.

Speaking for Percy Priest and Old Hickory Lakes in Nashville. I'm of the "Blame it on LiveScope" crowd.
I have friends that couldn't buy a fish until they got their video game system installed on their boats. Now they limit every trip.

Crappie started biting really well toward the end of feb. This is on hartwell. Bass fishing is starting to pick up as well.
Sorry to hear you’re a fishing buddy short now. I’ll make sure to never take mine for granted.

I aint really fished in over a year.
I have been setting my ancient boat up this month. Some floor was rotted out, but I aint giving up on this fine fishing boat. I put in a new seat.
Stripers will be on this part of the river in a couple weeks.
My outboard is messed up from sitting idle, but I am working on it.
I have mounted a new 36v trolling motor (mostly I use that to fish as I troll).
I got in 3 lithium batteries. Those cost more, but might work out over the long haul.
My fish finder has not yet arrived, but I don't really need it except for depth which my new motor does on the hand held remote.
I got in two rods, two reels as all mine burned. I got some lures.
I know some will not think this a fishing boat, but it is a good one - and comfy with a good stereo.

Clover, you ain't got a long enough fuse on your dynamite. Lengthen it about 6 inches and you will blow them right to the top!!

Dynamite wouldn’t even work off my pier/ water is so shallow that the pier might be blown away

That shallow water may be your problem, Crappie are still deep.

It was a weird fishing day on Charleston too.
Ended up with two slabs. Didn't expect the wind to whip up like it did
