I enjoyed the win as well. We have some real sour ####### on this board when it comes to basketball.

Ma'am, I am so very sorry to break it to you, but

..we are the epitome of mediocrity. And we don't have to be.
Maybe one day the light will come on for you, but your literal love of the coach is preventing you from being rational on the subject.

I happen to believe he is the coach to get us where we want to go.
I’m sorry you can’t see what Brad Brownell his accomplishing here.

I had and enjoyed a “victory beer”. Rewatched the play ....

several times. Over the years, been on the wrong side of those kind of plays a few times, so getting one is sweet and also deserved. Tigers played hard, smart and shot well in second half. Kind of surprised GT stayed right with us. Overall a well played game.
Momentum is big in sports, finish strong.

If Potter hit one off the upright and went thru for the win, I promise you Dabo would not be on the BBQ for a lucky play!

Are you kidding? You must not read these boards much during football games. Yes most leave Dabo alone to some degree but we roast his staff and team when we only win by 3 TDs. As a fan base we have tasted the mountain top and now expect it in all sports.
I for one expect a softball national championship in 5 years!

All I said was "AiE!" and then I reminded myself to close my mouth because that shot was a real jaw dropper.

It was one to remember but, it wasn't an accident, or a lucky shot, when Honor pulled up to shoot that basket, he fully intended on making that shot, and he did!!!

I've been very impressed with Honor so far - he was definitely the right choice to take that last shot and I'm glad he's a Tiger!

Come on, no one is disappointed in our basketball win...

How we got it was sheer luck tho. We won in spite of some of the same things we've seen over and over again. It's been 11 years, and the same pros and cons are still the same, and the GT game was no different.
I've said it before - this team is absolutely consistent, from range A to range B. It's been 11 years of data and results. We know that what we're going to see on any given night has played out before. And after 11 years, we know how that has worked out to be, well, exactly what it is. It is what it is, and we know what "it" is.
GT was no different just because a poor play and shot selection banked in the bucket.
Great to win, for sure, but we all know that one was (__________). Fill in the blank with a plethora of words, and I'm pretty sure that's the sentiment you really meant to point towards.

Honestly outside of our funk (I lost my hope during stretch full disclosure) the team didn’t play bad last night. I’ve stated it was two middle tier teams going at it and we came out on top.
I don’t think the defense lacked at all and the offense certainly played well. Coming down the stretch my biggest concern moving forward is the turnovers. Multiple games they have been a problem. Yes we have won but if we want to make a run in tourney we got to clean those up. Long story short last night was not typical insert blank here game.

How about “we all know that was because of the hard work and dedication of our student athletes who never gave up and fought like heck to the end”
Maybe support the team with some words like that instead of disrespecting the players hard work with “oh it was just luck”.
Sad just sad.....

To say that the Nick Honor last shot of the game was a luck shot is just crazy, and not willing to give the player his just due. If that was a luck shot, then we have to say that 99% of the shots that go in the basket from behind the arc is a luck shot!!! Those types of shots are practiced every time a basketball player goes out on the court with his team during practice at some time, and when they are on the court by themselves just practicing different shots. In no way do I believe that the shot that Nick put up with only seconds left in the game, was a luck shot. IMPO, it was a wide open shot that he intended to make to win the game in regulation time with 3.4 seconds remaining when he pulled up to shoot a wide open shot with GT already having 4 of their defenders ready to defend off any attempts to the basket.
Nick took the best shot we had for a win, and it wasn't enough time left to set up a shot closer to the Rim. I don't see it as luck, I saw a player taking the best shot that we had to win, and it was a bank shot that he has made many times. We win, call it what you want, I'm calling it a win shot with time running out!!!!
