and Kiffin to So Cal and all the other coaching mega-million sweepstakes, I can't help but wonder... How much money is enough? I mean, don't these guys already make more than they could spend in a lifetime? Why the h#ll is Saban doing Aflac commercials when he's already earned enough to keep his great grandkids from ever having to work if they don't want to? Is it some megalomaniacal competition to see who can die with the biggest bank account?

I just don't get it. I mean, I've busted my #ss for seven years now honing two novels which, in my obviously biased opinion, are killer, and if I got published and made maybe one or two mill, I'd never work another day in my life. What could you possibly do with 300 million that you couldn't with 50?

Kelly was not going to win a Natty at ND.

BV wants to be a HC as does TE.

Riley (not Kiffin) to USC is just another challenge. Winning in the SEC West will be a lot harder than USC winning the Pac12.

I don't think the money motivates them as much as their ego.

With 50 mill making hundreds of grand a year in interest alone, you could charter flights to anywhere you wanted, any time you want. At some point it just seems opulent to the verge of 'let them eat cake'. And to honest, the more I see it, the more I'm fine with just paying the players and saying f#ck all to school or team loyalty.

The head coaching job at OU is one of the biggest jobs in college football, historically speaking. If they ask you to be the head coach, you do not say no. Yes, the money is much more, but Brent always said he wanted to be a head coach. Guys like Bud Foster that are forever DCs and no aspiration for the head job do not exist anymore.

Venables gave Clemson his all for 10+ years and took a great opportunity for him - good on him for that. I can't believe he was at Clemson as long as he was. Thank him and for what he did for Clemson and congratulate him for his new opportunity.

Here's hoping Dabo hires another DC that is program changing and can keep the train rolling.

As for the others that are leaving for other opportunities - its the same as one of us leaving our current job for a better paying one as a different firm.
