I was really hoping to land both Edwin and Akinkunmi. Maybe we can flip someone with some of the coaching turmoil that will follow at the end of the season.

Money notwithstanding, I am still unable to comprehend why any decent player (i.e. 3 OL) would want to cast his lot with SCAR. With his current 40% SEC winning %, how long before the lamecock faithful pull his plug and get an experienced retread SEC coach?

Yep. I’m still holding out hope Thompson might flip to us after a dismal season. I know it’s a long shot but of the 3 instate guys, he seemed genuinely torn and to really like us.

As soon as we offer or as soon as we get a Crystal Ball for a target, there always seems to be another team that swoops in and gets a commitment.
Austin has missed on A LOT lately.

For me Franks was really concerning considering the mini GHS-Clemson pipeline of late. That one really stood out. Bennett, too, for that matter.

Bennet? I hope you’re not talking about the WR bc we clearly won that battle. We listened to the HS coaches and our staff assessment and luckily we went with Brown over stars.
As for OL I just hope if we miss here we pocket the scholly and don’t reach on some project that doesn’t contribute like in years past. In this world if you don’t run players off (which I don’t want to do) you can’t reach just to fill a spot when you have the portal who can bring you a proven commodity.

Brown has nothing to do with Bennett. Bennett is sill in HS so wasn't an either/or situation, we'll see how he performs once he gets to college. They may have hit on him too. I think we are very happy about our WRs for the 2024 class though.

and that’s at center with guys waiting. The UCS guys for sure are convinced they can play immediately. Which may be the case. Auburn/UF with new coaches also probably have openings.

Couple years? Why don’t you break down our 2023 haul and explain how that was a horrible class. I understand this class is just not good. It is what it is but we’ve had a few classes of decent OL recruiting.
