I guess I missed it in Logic where advocating for genocide is ok or not ok depending on the context. Is the context which group of intended genocide victims is being discussed?
The Harvard president likewise failed to answer a simple question. She would not answer whether advocating for the genocide of African-Americans would violate the Harvard student code of conduct. Answering in the affirmative would leave her in the untenable position of then admitting that advocating for the genocide of Jews is somehow different.
Harvard's president as an African-American female is unlikely to "voluntarily resign." That would be worse in the eyes of a lot of progs I suspect than doing the right thing and telling students that it is unacceptable to call for the genocide of Jews. It shouldn't be that hard.
As a test, it would be interesting to have some students wear KKK sweatshirts or carry a Confederate flag on campus. I doubt Harvard's president would have the same context argument regarding what is acceptable under the student code of conduct.

I would be shocked if the University or its students had anything to do with that.

Three things .

1 - It’s not hard to unequivocally condemn any promotion or endorsement of genocide. By definition genocide is a threatening violence. Any student of university employee who calls for genocide of any group of people clearly should be a violation of the University’s code of conduct. All three presidents should have got the answer right. 2 - Discussion of genocide in an academic environment is a legitimate topic. It should be conducted in a non- threatening manner. 3 -Apparently many legal cases involving free speech include a some discussion of context. But threatening mass death to a group of people based on religion, race or nationality requires immediate and unequivocal condemnation. Do the ethically and morally right thing, then let the university’s lawyers defend the position and action.

You don't need the KKK or a Confederate flag. All you need is someone using the wrong pronoun and the same leftist scum that seems to have no idea about how thousands chanting pro genocide slogans is any problem whatsoever, would want you permanently removed from campus.
What this boils down to is the left wanting to be able to loudly and proudly call for your death while also having the ability to imprison you for committing the most miniscule microagression (to use one of their made up terms) against them.
Yet it's the right that the morons around here thinks is full of authoritarians. As if we needed more proof of how clueless they are of the world around them.

I am glad many on the left find the university snowflakes/progressives/commies supporting Hamas as abhorrent.
What you should be more concerned with is how so many became so judgmental and misinformed so quickly...

The Ivy league has been a joke for years, at this point. Some people are just now starting to realize it.

Let's not fool ourselves about the firing of the U Penn President...

U Penn is not firing Elizabeth Magill for anything she did or didn't say to Congress. She's being fired because of a $100 million U Penn donation that is now contingent on her firing. Had Ross Stevens (U Penn alumnus) not threatened to cancel his $100 million donation to U Penn if Elizabeth Magill remaind their President, you can be assured she would still be sitting in the U Penn chair regardless of her demonstrated lack of moral clarity in front of Congress.
The only thing the Ivy's fear more than their own creation of radical leftist campus crusaders turning against them is losing that free sweet donor endowment money. Any Ivy President that puts a $100 million or so of that free University money in the loss column is gonna get the axe regardless of what they say to Congress...

He threatened to take back the gift (rescind the shares in his shady company), but would need a court or mediation to prove cause. He would likely lose, but Penn would also likely return the shares voluntarily if he made a big enough stink. They could be worth 200 million in 10 years or they could be worth nothing.
She resigned as president but stays on the law faculty. Lost about 2 million a year for all the effing morons who need “context” explained to them like four-year olds. It’s all about the limits of free speech. Irony is, they are the same morons who defend any threat Orange Jesus makes as free speech.
