Spring Game improvements
Feb 14, 2013, 9:54 AM

Other schools who love football as much as CU have 40 50 even 60 thousand at their spring game. What is it going to take to get that kind of crowd in the Valley for the spring game? Other than scrimmaging another opponent what are your ideas for making the spring game a "sellout".

here's a list.

Make it first team offense vs. first team Defense. I dont like seeing how much they've divided up the teams to make it more fair just makes it too watered down. The second string defense can pound away at the second string offense. second, have live kickoffs. I know you don't want players getting hurt but coverage has been slack to say it mildly. you need to see who you can count on and who needs replaced. Thirdly, Don't sit the stars. WE don't want to see any of them get hurt either, but we've basically come to see the Sammy Watkins, Andre Ellington's, CJ Spillers. IF they aren't there to show us some of those electric moves then its just not as exciting unless a freshman is blowing up. 4th, The free Beer was an excellent call and probably trump the remaining list above. Either way, I'll be there man.

Facility tours
Feb 14, 2013, 10:12 AM
|
|
I like that the game is free, but tours of the new practice facility and the West Endzone could be sold before and after the game. That would not only bring in more people but would bring in some money. There could also be a Clemson "giftbag" for those that go on the tour. T-shirts, a hat, different souvenir type things could be in the bag. Tickets to the baseball game (there is usually a home game that day) could also be included for a certain number of people.

Could they have the best upstate teams invited to the Clemson jamboree? Have it follow the spring game into the night?

It is a game put on for the fans....

It is really kinda of boring. I quit coming once my son became a teenager. It is free and they usally have a very good home ACC baseball game following the spring game. Not sure whatelse they can do they already lose money putting this on this game. The only schools that draw those kinda of numbers are Ohio State, BAMA, Michigan, Penn State, maybe a Neb and a few others, USC draws less than Clemson except for the year they did a concert. Maybe they can have Lee Brice do a free concert after the game,he is a big Clemson. For me I will not come to just watch the game its too slow, very little action, and its mainly used to evaluated the younger players.

I'd bet we used to run around 15,000-20,000 and now we probably have 30,000 or more.
