Only change in anyone's helmets I like is matte. Just not into anything shiny or chrome for football.

On occasion I'd be fine with the purple helmet. Also really like the purple uniforms, again on occasion.

that they didn’t choose Clemson or Penn State or Bama because they aren’t switching up their uniforms.
The only school that I think might get mileage out of switching things up is Oregon, and in their case switching things up IS their brand.
I suspect some players might get pumped when a totally new uniform is laid out on Gameday but I highly doubt we lose recruits because of it. I too am an older fan and I feel like there’s already so much change pushing older fans away…I see no value in adding to it so you can have a purple helmet now and then.
Just my two cents.

Should Clemson change their helmet? No.
The Clemson football uniform, especially the helmet, is instantaneously recognizable. It’s a brand. You don’t change the brand unless the brand is broken. The Clemson brand IS NOT broken.
Coca Cola (probably the strongest brand on the planet) tried this stupid idea in the 80’s. It cost them hundreds of millions of dollars.

when all of the teams, both men and wimminz, shared the facilities in Jervey, I remember walking in one afternoon and there was a purple Riddell helmet sitting on one of the trainers tables. It was purple with two orange stripes and one white stripe, and a white facemask. It actually looked pretty sharp (much better than the one pictured). Everybody got pretty excited about it until the trainer said it was just a conceptual design that Riddell sent, that would never be used.

I don't care what color they wear as long as they win the game. This helmet isn't ugly in my view, which is why they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I know I'm aging myself here, but the best uniforms are the simplest.... UT in all white, PSU in all white, Bama in all white.
Simple is better..... but I am an old soul. My favorite Clemson uniform is when we wear all orange.
