Coaches are trying new stuff out, trying new players, doing evals - a win is a bonus.

But we'll take it because we have a lot of young guys to develop and get them ready for bigger roles next season.

This has been true for years, particularly for non-NY6 bowl games

Nothing new here. Only possible change is 12 teams will be able to compete for a championship, which may entice additional elite players to not skip bowl games.
