Incentive for a Sophomore to return?
Dec 8, 2015, 5:24 PM

|
The top 3 Heisman candidates are all So. All will be drafted high next year and become financially secure for the rest of their lives IF they stay healthy. I know about the possibility of insurance policies, but from a business perspective, why in the world would they agree to play another 12-15 games for free and risk a career ending injury ? It makes no sense to me. Why not take a year off, train , and get ready for the combine and stay healthy? They have very little to prove on the field?

They can't turn pro unless they're RS Sophs. So quit worrying. Or if you're a Coot, you should worry.
Take a year off? Worked for Vajayveon.

If we win it all, do you know what his star value will be just on endorsements alone? Astronomical! ! Why wouldn't a guy that is injury prone, take the millions , sit out 12 months , stay healthy and train for the combine. It just doesn't make sense to me?

Besides, what does that say about your work ethic (Clowney)?
Take out a HUGE insurance policy, come back next year, and win another Heisman. Value skyrockets.

They strive to play the game they love.
You can get hit by a car anytime you leave to go somewhere, are you going to stop going places cause of that?

If you are going to try to stay in football shape, you will be doing pretty intense training, which can definitely lead to serious injury just as easy. People get injured in practice and working out all the time.
