Let's say Clemson not only continues our winning ways

But actually gets better each week and win every game by 21+ points the rest of the season.
What if we play our way into the team everyone thought we would be at back in August.
What if it was obvious at the end of the season we're clicking on all cylinders and we're a team nobody would want to play.
What would the CFP committee think of us?
Could we squeak in at the end even if we didn't make the ACC Championship?

No chance unless there were a lengthy string of earth shattering upset. No three loss ACC team is making the playoffs unless they win the ACC championship.

However, that has been a lie used to squeak Bama in. Not sure they would actually do that if it helps Clemson. Actually, I'm sure they would not.

Maybe if we were in the SEC. There then would be enough ranked teams (deserved or not) for us to beat moving forward to give the committee something to think about.

No conspiracy. Maybe only 2 wins would have winning records and none would be ranked.

There is a case for it. Look good and hope for some upsets and we can sneak in.
Ya gotta hope some other teams go on streaks though heading into our remaining games so we can at least point toward beating hot teams vs a bad remaining schedule.
Better to lose early vs late.

It definitely be very tough we would have to beat smu by 30 and fsu by 40 and probably Louisville by at least 30 which would be very tough, but the more supposedly good teams that keep losing only can help us.

Then this September would be looked at as even more of a coaching failure than it already is, and all that momentum and late season success would be for nothing more than a pop tart bowl win

The committee wouldn't be able to get past the loss to Syracuse in my opinion.

We would have to actually turn it around and beat the living F out of every team in front of us. That's still the mystery around here. How will we stack up to teams with a pulse?
But I do feel like the Syracuse game was the dagger to any CFP run honestly.

thought. Three bad losses, and non-appearance in a conference championship game, even in the lowly ACC has already doomed this season. Just stating facts.

Don’t see us backing in even by winning out but, I’d love to see the winning scenario.

Don’t care what bowl game it is. Just win it, and get to claim 10 wins, plus it means Clemson beat the Coots.

With the talent and experience we had going into the season, missing the playoffs with this team, even at 10-3, is hard to call a success.

It’s unlikely, but all these people saying it’s impossible must’ve forgotten how we backed our way into it last year… with 3 losses. Have to win ACC though, and have to have some help to make it to that game.
Every conference game on the schedule (minus FSU) are teams in the hunt. So we can cover some ground there. Miami seems like a lock, although they only have a single conference win at this point, could change fast. Duke has UVA and GT, which will hopefully create some additional stratification.
Cards, Orange and Pack have 8 games with teams above us (plus our 2). Think VT has some but I have zero faith in them. That’s who we should be pulling for to get a miracle.

Funny coming from a Coot ,You do realize that the little brother team in Columbia has never seen the playoffs right ? On top of that you have the best QB to ever wear the ugly Garnett color and will still have another sorry season at 500 or less.

"What you do in November is what they remember" as the saying goes...
Though I certainly highly doubt we would get into the playoff with three losses without winning the conference - in large part due to comparative lack of wins against strong opponents plus the loss against Syracuse - we would be seen as a team who surged their way up and pulled things together. It will paint a positive image of the culture of this program showing that the team did not give up and throw in the towel in the end.
At best, we could be the last team out from the CFP at #13 if the CFP Committee were to compare us to another team who was 9-3 but did not have a bad loss as we did.
I remember back in the 4-team CFP era, just 1 bad loss (like what we had against Syracuse with a similar score margin) would get a team snubbed by the committee even if they won out and won their conference championship.

It would require " chaos Saturday " on steroids every Saturday , but with so much parity this year I wouldn't say it's impossible.

We could win every game by 50+ points but we need help from others to back door our way into the ACCCG bc we're not getting an at-large bid with our sos

There is no chance of an at-large bid as a 3-loss ACC team. Especially considering one of the losses was a blowout to Syracuse at home.
