analysis. I have said for many years that once the season is over, let Vegas rate the top ten. That being said, I rarely bet, but constantly keep up with the Vegas odds. Seven days ago we were 7 1/2 favorites against Ga Tech. After last Saturday we opened at 6 1/2 favorites. We are now 3 /12 favorites. It is really rare to see this big a swing. Vegas changes spreads for two reasons. 1. All the bets are going for one team and they want to make that team’s spread less attractive, or 2. They know something the public does not know (inside information).
Please don’t flame me. I honestly think we will win but will also say this is one of the most important games we have played in a long time.

They set a line to a score that they think will make the bets split evenly between the two teams; when it moves a lot it means the betting public doesn't agree with the sports books

As someone who bets and follows CFB and NFL, I can tell you a 6 pt move in a line is .massive. Doesn't mean we'll lose but means basically every dime being bet is on GT.
No faith in CU this week according to the betting public.
I hope being on the road brings out the urgency that they had in the 2nd half of Troy game. Go Tigers!

There was not a 6 point move. There was a 3 point move which then moved a point back to Clemson. All of the posts about 9.5 are pre-season lines which most books don’t even make available.

The Vegas line has little correlation to how good or bad they think teams are. It is a mechanism to manipulate how many people bet on either team. Earlier in the week there was some doubt about whether Haynes King would play. That was one reason the line was so high. The line should have always been around 3.5.
