chicken flag and a Washington Redskins flag. On the back window, the following was written:
"So Clemson you finally (underlined twice) won 1 out of 6 Go Gamecocks"
It was on a Chrysler 200 sedan and was turning into one of the gazillion medical offices across University Blvd from Charleston Southern. I was briefly tempted to pull in just to see what the driver looked like, but I've spent enough time at that hospital and some of those medical offices in the last couple of years and opted not to.
I'm originally from the Upstate...And sometimes, I don't think folks there really understand what Clemson fans in the Lowcountry and the Midlands (gawd knows) go through every day with the overwhelming usuck crap in the media. And its reflected in day to day life, as one might expect. Each is reflective of the other.
Its truly a vacation to get back to the Upstate and get away from the chickensh!t Clemson fans step in daily down this way. I'd always known how classless, rude and poorly educated dirtpeckers are, but until I actually had to live amongst them, I didn't fathom the depths they could sink to.

Living in Charleston has been rough the past 5 years regarding the rivalry until this year. I had to sit there and listen to a friend's neighbor who's a chicken fan in October tell me he wouldn't take Deshaun Watson as his QB over any QB on their roster. I listened quietly and didn't say much. Come early December I ran into the guy again over at my buddy's house and the game came up. He looked at me and said "You don't have much to say about the game, figured you'd be bragging about the win." I told him that I wasn't the bragging type and that most Clemson fans I know didn't brag to begin with because a win over Scar was expected. I then told him "besides, I haven't taken you seriously regarding football since you said you wouldn't take Watson over any of your current QB's." He tried to come up with something for about 30 seconds before he just walked back across the street to his house.
We're definitely outnumbered here in the Lowcountry, but the win last fall has sure made things easier and a lot quieter since then!

Well that's a given here in the Low-Country. I live in a neighborhood and its about 60% uSuC and 40% Clemson. We all fly our flags, we socialize most of the time but when Football hits its all business! They let me know if we Lose and I do the same for them during the Fall. But I can honestly say all my neighbors have class, even if 60% of them are delusional!!

a couple years. I completely understand your post, and can commiserate with you. Isn't it funny (by funny I mean truly sad) how history didn't matter this time last year, but now history goes back exactly 6 years! Lol! Hey, it's their fault they couldn't do well enough on their SAT's to make it into Clemson. No wonder they don't like us. I equate it to putting a, "NO GIRLS or COOTS" sign on your tree house as a kid. No wonder they're a little but+ hurt. Rejection has to hurt! Lol.
Great post +1

About 5 years ago, those cockroaches started crawling out of the woodwork and spreading like wildfire around the Charleston area. Soon after, businesses started to follow suit and started leaning chicken with merchandise and apparel. Then ... when we were out somewhere in Clemson gear (which happens often) somehow it behooved some dirtpeckers to just come up and talk to me and my kids and spread their sarcastic nonsense. Perfect strangers walking up to us and asking us if we're sure we want to wear the clothes we had on. Geesh! My kids used to get offended - especially my middle child. She would get all teary-eyed and hug me and I would just hug her back and tell her, "I know dollbaby, don't look at it. Just close your eyes," as I smirked at the jerk who was trying to be clever.
FYI - the stores that leaned chicken weren't leaning so far chicken this past December. But most of the stores in Charleston are still on the chicken train. It's disgusting.

It's no better in Spartanburg. I don't care if they fly their flags and wear their colors. You know you can't fix stupid, but I draw the line when they get in my face. My normally soft-spoken wife will take great exception when people start on her. We were going in Bi-Lo on the Thursday night of the Clemson-Wake game. A couple and their middle school aged son stepped aside to let us in. We thanked them as we passed. The wife said, "We wouldn't have let you in if we'd seen those (Clemson)shirts." We kept walking until the kid yelled, "We're gonna kick your butts." My wife, who has to endure Clemson jokes daily on her job, turned to the mother and said, "June, you need to take care of Honey Boo-Boo" and kept walking. The look on the woman's face was priceless. I was speechless and proud.

& I TU'd the sh!t out of them
Thanks for the personal experiences....I've had the same type stuff happen to me all over, but especially in the foothills (Newberry & Cootville) and worse where coastal & in Charleston. the sorry coots really do make an effort to be cockheaded, but usually with one glance you can tell they don't have any kind of degree or education, much less moral decency or dignity. LOL!!!
GO TIGERS!

Midlands, although isolating myself a tad on Lake Murray.
I'm no recluse; thus, I have close friends, neighbors, business associates and fellow members of clubs and organizations representing a variety of schools, including S.C. Fortunately, we value our friendships enough to avoid tasteless and classless remarks about our loyalties, although I've heard it on rare occasion in other venues.
I've learned to ignore those types, simply because I first consider the sources. Upon doing so, it's then quite easy to laugh and walk away without remarking. Once, my son asked why I failed to respond. My answer: "I won't dignify the so-and-so by responding." He thought I was a tad arrogant. I thought I was simply opting to ignore low-life, low-class and low-bred types. It's worked a long, long time.

There's so much trash here that's about all I think the average post deserves. Half of the post are about coot failure and 25 percent of the remaining are about a coot that failed.
Wonder why I'm not spending much time here lately?
