helped if DW doesn't throw that terrible pick. A little adjustment to cover the dang tight end would have helped as well. But hey, turned out to be a great year!

I remember thinking the National Championship was gone with that loss. I turned out not to be the case

Wow. Shocking they didn’t show any of the bogus pass interference calls, especially the one where the back judge threw his flag from 40 yards away.

But nevertheless, this loss was the best thing to happen to us (since the orange bowl loss). We went on a roll after that.

I was at that game. Definitely was one of the worst officiated games in Clemson history. Really thought the run for the National Championship was over after that one but a miracle happened and everyone in front and around us in the rankings lost as well and we finally turned it on and destroyed our opponents. Hope Duane Heydt and his crew of cronies are having the day they deserve.

That may be the only loss by our beloved Clemson Tigers football team that I won’t ever care about. That team won awards and titles.

So there I sit in the student section with my buddies (KA) and my head sits low. “Will we ever make it back?” “Natty hopes are shot.”

Luckily for us, just about everybody else lost that weekend and kept the dream alive!

I’d love to rewatch this game - view from the student section is bad but DW4 looks his age here in performance and DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT WE WERE DOING ON DEFENSE? I am sure the D was pretty gassed (offensively, this was like a Chad Morris game) but Pitt really dialed up some great calls. They have some dudes still making names for themselves in the league and the sum was better than the parts.

Anyways, I had a great rest of the season and remember camping out for ACC tickets.
