Alright boys. Need serious advice.

Sep 22, 2021, 9:59 AM

I'm finna get back out there and take a stab at being miserable again.

I'm talking about pursuing a STEADY thing with a GIRL. Not going slumming in a drunken stupor or fornicating with that which my mom would be ashamed. But, like, someone who I can take to weddings and introduce to friends n ####.

Only problem I'm seeing is that there's a 90% chance I'm gonna have to contend with someone else's fucktrophies unless I go WAY younger.

Two things:

1) how to navigate other fucktrophies and is it werth it?

2) if not, lungers who have wives that you met when they were 10 years younger than you. What type of dowry should I be expecting?

Chances are, the only person who can deal with me is someone who has equal psychological trauma, but I'd like to get outta this with a legacy, my sanity and my money, Is unpossible?

Honestly I have no idea. But please introduce to us the one who eventually conquers you. Because you're asking for it, and you will get it. We don't want the one night stands, or one week flings. We want the one you take home to the family, and such.

As for the dowry? All I can suggest is be wary of the parents who absolutely adore you. They're dying to get rid of her. Higher the dowry, the hotter that potato is and the quicker you should drop it. Get a good one with a pittance for a dowry, who's dad gives you the evil eye and whose mom gives you the stink eye.....she's a keeper.

14 years difference for me. I highly recommend. But you gotta stay away from claiming her bags at the kid luggage carousel. WAY too much drama. And the returns diminish greatly over time. On average, kids grow to dislike their parents for awhile - magnified with step kids. And the seggs (the TRUE ROI) loses a lot of it's sizzle.

And if you take my advice, you gotta find one that doesn't WANT kids, either. Narrows down the field of vision a good bit.

would subject myself to that. You can't tell them ####, can't discipline them, even the young ones know you're banging their mom so don't really respect you, but you still have to cater to them and go to activities, etc. Seems like a huge PITA. Young single mothers are usually crazy AF too.

Any chick under 25 you might as well get a blow up doll. Seems like personalities will be similar, but the blow up doll will be cheaper and less stressful.

IMO, seems like you're looking for a late 20's nurse. Psychological baggage, with school and work haven't had time to have a kid, have their own money and decent career but still make highly questionable decisions, etc.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I met my wife when I was 32 and she was 26

Sep 22, 2021, 10:54 AM

Similar deal as you. When you hit your 30s, you're much more confident than guys in their mid-20s, and your career is usually going better than those guys. So you're more attractive to girls in their mid to late 20s who are looking to get married. There's no reason to lower your standards and settle for somebody divorced or who just already has kids.

I was basically screwing around in my late 20s and either dating women I knew I wasn't going to get married to, or just messing around in a lot of casual relationships for years before I met my now wife. Because I was living in Chicago, I didn't meet a lot of women with children, but the ones I did I definitely put straight into the "fun" category and didn't consider for serious dating. In smaller cities, I noticed it can be tough to find many single women, even in their late 20s, who aren't divorced and/or don't have kids. Hopefully, that's not the case where you are. Anyway, my advice to you is that you go into meeting women knowing what you want from a serious relationship, and either just shutting down the women who can't give you that or not letting things get past the casual stage. Otherwise, you could end up stuck in a situation you didn't really want to get into.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Solid advice.

Sep 22, 2021, 11:02 AM

I'm in a smaller city --- so a LOT of what I stumble upon in my age bracket (at least in online dating) is the women with children. I don't want to settle for that, but the older I get the more it seems an inevitable reality at some point. Sounds like I've still got plenty of time, but I do think about it.

I'm actually trying to do some pretty gay stuff to get more F2F time with prospects. I'm looking at taking a yoga class and/or some ballroom dancing lessons. Even thought about splitting my gym membership between a weight room and something like Orange Theory. My personality doesn't come through via text like it does in person. If I dno't have anything else going for me, I've always relied somewhat on charisma.

The online dynamic seems to attract either college Tinder chicks who are babies...or the women with kids, at least in my area. I think there is hope still yet, but that's why I provided that context in OP.

are asking.

1. I cannot imagine what that is like, but I am sure it would be tough, especially if the kids are older. THey will have an established routine/life, and you have to fit into it. But if you find out you REALLY like her and want to stay with her, you make it work. That kid would be priority #1 though and you would have to know that going in. I have a feeling you could get some REALLY GOOD puddin from those ladies though. Something tells me when they have been sitting on the sideline for a while, they are willing to put it out there a little more.

2. There ain't no dowry and I would avoid young ones if possible. In my opinion, there is no way I could carry on a conversation and have a relationship with someone in their mid to late 20's. We would just have very little in common. Great sex might keep it together for a while, but long term would probably be a nogo.

Sep 22, 2021, 10:54 AM

lack of personality. It's their flakiness. Take this one from back in the summer:

Scenario 1: A girl (probably 22?) follows me home from Jake's to "watch netflix". We pull into my relatively nice neighborhood, and she texts me and has to flake because she "left her wallet" at Jake's. Chalk that up to my Ted Bundy vibes.

Scenario 2: Two weeks later. See the same girl at Jake's. I'm like "### happened to your wallet last time?" She says it wasn't a big deal and this time she wants to "go back home and smoke". So we go to her house. We hang out all afternoon and I end up finger banging her while she sucked my D, but she wanted to "Get to know me" more before we effed. So she got my number and texted me a few times, but I was kind of over it since I wasn't able to bang.

There are half a dozen similar stories from my conquests in Columbia.

I think I need to work on the serial killer thing (and being a raging drunk wasn't helping), but the flakiness of younger girls is what gets me. I can deal with the immaturity.

Sep 22, 2021, 10:56 AM

which in my 41 year old experience is waaaaaay younger than you think it is.

In general I think you have a wide range of professional women in your age bracket that won't have baggage. You may find that someone who has been married and divorce has a more clear view of what they are looking for in a partner, but in my opinion marrying a woman with kids would be challenging if yo don't have children of your own. Also in my experience, women mature a little earlier than men (in terms of partying, making better choices) so going younger won't make a huge gap.

My husband is 11 years older than me, and also 10000 times nicer than me. I'm still not really sure why he thought I was a suitable wife other than at the time I was 25, had big ##### and a great career. Most of my friends married men our age and had to wait for them to grow up (some of them are still waiting, or on husband #2).

Sep 22, 2021, 12:31 PM [ in reply to My best friend is in a new blended family (5 kids total) and ]

both of our exes are a pain in the ### and both of them contribute to problems with the step-kids, but her three are various levels of connected to me as a person while my one has nothing to do with anyone but me and the three year old really. We know at least two other couples with similar stories, particularly where the children are male. I think boys have a level of loyalty to their moms that makes it hard to blend. My oldest bonus kid is amazing and we get along really well. But she also has a terrible relationship with her dad so I filled a need. The middle girl is close to her dad so she has the most trouble connecting with me.

But still nothing like my kid.

I do agree that boys have a stronger bond with their mom

Sep 22, 2021, 12:53 PM

I'm close with both of my children, but my son is the youngest and particularly affectionate, loving and thoughtful when it comes to me. He does all the sports and playing with my husband, but he unabashedly loves me the most. My daughter is entering the preteen years so lots of eye-rolling and you're the worst mom ever going on with her these days.

32? man you got twenty more years of PLAYTIME! Don't even think about marriage. Your seed will hold up, you'll be rich enough to hire a nanny, and they just keep making more chicks so don't worry about finding one. The older you get the better than young tang feels.

Sometimes it just happens...

Sep 22, 2021, 11:31 AM

Got divorced and got on Tinder a while after. Met a bunch of chicks that wanted to hook up and played around with that briefly but it was fairly soon after I got on there that I met the woman I'm now married to. She had three kids but she is gorgeous, funny, smart and kind. And her kids are pretty awesome too. My kid is the one that is kind of a resentful prick.

We also have a baby together so I'm in that diapers at 50 stage and wouldn't trade it for the world. This three year old is the coolest kid alive.

I wasn't even really planning on ever getting married again.

we're about the same age

Sep 22, 2021, 11:51 AM

there seems to be a massive, massive gap in social interaction expectations with people, especially chicks, who were in elementary school at the time we were in high school.

it's one of the most baffling things to me. how can a simple 6 - 10 year gap create such a drastic difference? i think the answer is social media, etc. but based on your style you're much more well versed in that area than me.

got a buddy about 29 stuck in a similar situation (greenville). hitting the bumbles and tinders pretty hard. some of the stories he tells me are just ridiculous. this dude played ball in college (ACC), not a Tech grad, from greenville, so I feel like he should be able to connect well.

similar story from my buddy out in NM. granted, he's a complete weirdo (dead head + nuclear engineer), so for his weird stories i usually give the ladies the benefit of the doubt.

best man at my wedding was up in the NE. high profile lawyer, my age. exact same stories.

what i'm trying to say is, the sub 26 crowd seems like a hard no go for me based on these stories.

good luck tho man. i don't envy the position from a long term perspective, but i know you'll have some good stories from the process of trying to figure it out (I do envy that part a little bit haha)

Seems like the common thread here is bumble and tinder

Sep 22, 2021, 11:54 AM

given, I haven't been in the dating world since either were invented but that doesn't strike me as a place to find a serious relationship.

They should go get drunk at a bar and meet their spouses the old fashioned way.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I completely agree with you

Sep 22, 2021, 12:13 PM

but the market expectations that he's dealing with push meeting people via these applications.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I got a ton of hookups from Tinder/Bumble

Sep 22, 2021, 1:12 PM [ in reply to Seems like the common thread here is bumble and tinder ]

Even from ones that I would have liked to seriously date but they moved on...the women who are on those apps have a million options as well so you are certainly in a ton of competition and they are certainly playing the field as well. I met my wife on Match.com after getting tired of the grind that those apps often provide.

So yes, completely agree with you that you should only use Tinder/Bumble/Hinge for the "fun zone" and use Match/EHarmony (if that's still a thing?) or mutual friends/other real life encounters for the wife zone

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't think you should only use those apps for "fun zone"

Sep 22, 2021, 2:01 PM

But just be aware of what things disqualify a woman from being a serious candidate for a relationship when you get on there, and don't waste a lot of time and effort with those women.

Sep 22, 2021, 12:30 PM

before jumping in. Give it some time and do not feel like you need to hurry because running out of time. Do not look for "red flags", they'll show up.

Thirty-two is still young. I didn't get married until I was 38. We separated when I was 44 and divorced three years later. No children were brought into this marriage on either side. Just make sure she is your friend instead of just a lover and/or trophy. Money is not everything.

Just let things happen and everything else will fall into place. Good luck!!

Lol at #1 - grow up Peter Pan

Sep 22, 2021, 1:19 PM

Most women have a have a sizeable body count, just going to have to go with "don't ask, don't tell" or accept the fact that women have fun in college/post-college just like men do and it's not a big deal.

Obviously this doesn't apply to every woman but in my experience, the younger women in the early/mid 20's are still in party mode and won't want to settle down and their dinner time conversations revolve that as well so don't waste your time if you're looking to get serious.

So if you are 32 like others have said, I would look a little closer to your age

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Lol at #1 - grow up Peter Pan

Not worried about the body count. It's the some other dude's kids I don't think I'm ready for.

relationship. Most folks don't want to deal with their own relationship failures, much less someone else's.

Having kids should really require a license or a test or something other than simply functioning genitalia.
