When other programs court coaches you don't want to leave, you put up a fight to keep them. You meet with them, you promote them, you give them raises-bonuses, you give them more titles or more say in things.....
or if you want to see them leave, you keep silent.
Dabo kept silent.
In fact, honestly wouldn't surprise me if Dabo "encouraged" or "nudged" Cheese to inquire.
Again, not trying to be negative, but someone was going to be the scapegoat for the defense, and Cheese was it.
Moreover, don't think Auburn nation is jumping up and down over this signing
At the end of the day, Dabo knows what he's doing....don't think this move was a random as it may first have seemed.

No one knows what discussions have taken place between Dabo and Cheese. Dabo was aware and commented about Cheese being close to earn benefits from the state of Alabama.
Because Dabo is a class guy we may never know any performance related communication that took place between them. I personally don't think there was much interest in staying from either side. Cheese was tired of underperforming and hearing about it, and Dabo was tired of Cheeses assigned duties being a glaring weakness on the team.
Just my opinion, but one I've seen many times in my 35 years of managing managers. When it's time to move on, make a decision and move on with class, no sugar coating, no pointing fingers.

Wow. You jump to a lot of conclusions and assume a lot. Love how you get all that out of a few things some recruits say and some posts on TigerNet. Exaggerate much? lol

Harbison moving on is probably best for the team. Dabo has seemed to always upgrade with each coaching hire, DBs have been the most poorly coached position on the team in the last few years.

Guess it would be out of the question to just wish the man good luck and thank him for his time here. I am quite sure he did the best he could do. Does it make you feel like a big man to take shots at him behind a keyboard

You have to be kidding me he didn't try to keep Cheese because he was terrible did you see our secondary talent can't be that bad no way the guys didn't know what to do or how to even turn around and find the ball
