If we find a great coach quickly, he might change his mind.

It’s time to make a hire.

No program needs to go a month without a coach.
I don’t believe any of the candidates are in the CWS.

do hope we can make a good hire soon. I can't imagine Bakich not taking the job, if offered. I still doubt Godwin will leave ECU, unless we really throw big bucks at him. Of course, there could be other candidates that we don't know about.

I think so. Can't imagine Neff wouldn't have compiled a list before the announcement.

None of the coaches that are listed in this thread just knock your socks off. If the AD is going for a coach that is going to turn this program around, I would think he would have long term success, lots of experience in regional and super regionals and have been to the CWS more than once. If Mr Neff is willing to spend the money, why not go get a coach who has prove he can win at the highest level. In my opinion, the coaches that are mentioned are not much better than Monty Lee. I wonder if Clemson fixed the 11.7 issue, if Monty Lee would have been more successful. He needed a new pitching and hitting coach to correct the glaring problems with this team.

NCAA scholarship limit stands, What other schools have done with money is to put up endowment money that covers non-athletic scholarships for their baseball players. I don't understand all the particulars, but various posts continue to reference the discrepancies between what Clemson & other schools (e.g., Vanderbilt) do.

It's no different than NCAA Div 3. No athletic scholarships are offered to anyone but 3/4 of all athletes have full scholarships or very close to it. I know someone that played Div 3 football at a $50,000 a year school and his family paid $2500 a year. The other $47,500 was paid through various scholarships, grants and other school funds. It can be done at Clemson.

Heard Bakich told us he wasn’t interested. Trying to get some verification but hearing Neff has been talking to Leggett getting some advice and has been so impressed is now considering bringing Leggett back if he misses on anymore offers.

Leggett had a bad habit of getting commitments that he had practically no chance of signing due to their MLB draft status. I understand that's often an issue with other schools as well but seems Leggett always had way more than his share.

I heard the coots are so afraid that Clemson is going to b*tch slap them so hard when they win the 8th in a row that they are considering becoming an all girls school so they can officially dismantle their Foolsball program!

With Brock Porter & Tristan Smith almost certainly getting drafted/signed after the MLB Draft...this is 3 guys who would have contributed as freshmen. There is a thin red line on going after elite players as the alternative option of MLB being so available.
