For saying I hope I don't see watson play in a bowl game... I don't think ddabo was wrong but do not want to see this young man getting hurt in a bowl game. Td all you want but if he hurts his knee worse in a bowl game then people will be wanting dabo fired

perhaps the reason for the TDs is the only ones saying anything like that are gamecocks crying over Saturday's game and looking for justification to slam Dabo
just sayin...

I'm more concerned with how fast he can get ready for

next season.
If the doctors, the coaches and Watson himself say that he is not at risk for playing, then fine. But I'd also like to consider the extra month of rehab he can get if he had the surgery today.
Anyway, just a thought. Obviously more knowledgeable people are making these decisions.

t. Tell me, what exactly is deshaun watson going to injure by playing? Since you and several other medical professionals have come to the conclusion that you can do more damage to an already torn acl that is going to be surgically repaired in January any ways, what will deshaun watson or anyone playing with his injury risk by playing? I'll be able to tell if you go on google and look it up so please just tell me what you think. I'm not TDing you I don't TD people I just want to hear what your reasoning is and explain to you why you may be getting these TDs

I am fully in support of the team Doctors, Coaches and player making the decision on the best course of treatment for a player. I think it is very possible that top notch medical experts have differing opinions on what the "right" answer is in a given situation. I trust that our team docs and coaches are taking the best course of action for DW.
That being said, I think some of "us" on this site are really ignoring a great deal of information that is all over the internet from different medical journals. To directly answer your question"what further damage can be done?"
The ACL provides stability to the knee. It is very accurate to state that if the ACL is completely torn, you can NOT do further damage to the ACL. The only way to do further damage to the ACL would be to postpone the surgery to a point where atrophy of the damaged ligament has occurred. No one has suggested that is the plan.
Where the valid debate exists relates to risk of damage to other support structure in the Knee. Braces are believed to be a good way of reducing that risk, but are not based on a ton of medical information a guarantee against damage to the other ligaments in the knee. The medical folks that are saying that additional damage can occur are talking about the strain that can be put on the other support ligaments of the knee , primarily related to lateral movement as opposed to straight ahead exercise.
I think it is a very "fair" topic that should be , and I am sure was discussed and evaluated by DW's doctors and DW. Again, I trust our staff and believe that they are handling things correctly for DW's specific injury.
Slamming everyone that asks questions or throws an opinion about when they think/wish DW should get it fixed seems a bit silly.
Accusing the staff of choosing to ignore medical advice and ruin a kids life is even more ignorant and deserves slamminmg.

I still think it's funny that people that disagree with something that is said here can only come up wit coot.... I do live in columbia and I have had to hear about it for 5 years... I hate the coots as much as the next tiger fan...but guess I'm a coot for not wanting his unstable knee hurt worse for a stupid bowl game..... and btw last time I checked my team isn't 6 and 6 and they aren't in the sec. But reply with coot thats all you have
