He was offered another position (presumably as an analyst or similar), but he refused.
So in essence, parties are mutually separating. It’s done, just waiting on Dabo’s move.

That's not true. Offering him a take it or leave it demotion is the same as firing him.
Although, as I stated in other threads, I think it will be announced as a mutual separation.

He was told we were moving in a different direction. Call it what you want. Offering someone a lesser role knowing they won’t take it is just for optics. I’m sure Dabo and BV had previously spoken about the whole situation, given their relationship.

I would agree. In the end he wont be officially fired, he just wont be here anymore
I think there are two likely scenarios here. A) He was told by Dabo he wont be retained and to look for a job. Maybe Dabo called Brent to see if there is interest, maybe Wes called Brent OR B) Brent called Dabo to ask to speak to his DC for a lateral job. Dabo agreed
I am leaning towards A just given all the rumblings starting mid/late-Nov
