Does CK get the reins in an early series like DW4 and TLaw did?

Both of those games were against formidable opponents. Dabo obviously had confidence in both QB’s. GT is not in the same league but still a legit question. I think it speaks volumes whether he does or doesn’t.
Surely DJ needs a confidence builder or is getting CK ready more important.

Doubt it…. DW4 had a better arm than cole, Dj has a stronger arm than Cade. Same with Trevor and KB. Was brought in for specific arm strength plays.

Yes. You want him to get as much playing time as possible. Cade has better accuracy, internal clock, more mobile, and quicker with decisions. DJ has a cannon, but based on last year and freshman year, his accuracy and decision making need work. He needs help around him, absolutely, but he has to pick it up as. He knows it better than we do. Cade pushing him will be great.

Lets not forget that Cade will need playing Time to learn the difference of the game speed from HS to College if he is to be backup #1. If Cade was thrown in a big game against a worthy opponent without ever having any playing time, he would make DJ look like our best option, and hopefully DJ will be our best option bc he overcome what ever was effecting him last year, and he comes out looking like the DJ we saw against BC in 2020!!!

I doubt it too!
The truth is; DJU will have to beat out Cade.
This is going to be a brand new offense for both of them. So, DJU can't rely on his time in the system seeing as how the system is changing to more Air Raid concepts.
Also, you look at the QBs that were ahead of both the examples you gave and neither could say they went to a top 10 opponent(Notre Dame) in prime time and put up nearly 500 yards. Neither were 5-star QBs either(correct me if wrong).
I think "if DJU wins the job in camp because he performed better in scrimmages; he won't just get yanked relatively early"! If it's close and DJU despite an upgraded OL, despite having a healthy WR corps, despite having a less archaic passing route tree - then CK plays early! But, DJU is a proven winner of 10 college football games! Something you can't just dismiss.

I agree, but DJ isn' a winner of 10 games if our defense hadn't been as good as they were. Maybe he would have won 6-7 games with an average defense....

Kelly Bryant was a winner of 10 games, an ACC title and took us to a playoff game. I would say he was more accomplished than DJ at this point. Dabo had no problem putting TLaw in on the road against a top 15 opponent.
If he truly believes CK has “it” then he gets a series. If not then he rides DJ to a win if the game stays close.
Regardless of CK getting a series i think DJ finishes the game off. My hope is that CK can get a TD or put together a nice drive. That could be huge!
