Since they run the option a lot. Don't need any d-line getting hurt before Coot week...

To play against a chop blocking team ( option team ) Coach V showed how handle this when Ga Tech ran the option. Defensive linemen where to 1/2 yard more off the line. This throws off the offensive linemen since cut blocking is on timing. Also the Defensive Linemen can tell a cut block is being used and can adjust and can see where the ball is better. I don’t remember anyone getting hurt against Ga Tech when Coach V was there but I could be wrong.

A step back, they whiff on a lot of blocks, and we gave guys on their feet plugging the holes their backs have to run through.

We can put them in a lot of 3rd and long
and tee off if we do that.

It is up to the bigger, stronger, faster athlete to learn the techniques to defeat.


Neither technique is rocket science.
