Does anyone else see the humor in saying Tajh's receivers

May 15, 2014, 7:59 AM

were too good to give him any credit for the team's passing success as though none of the SEC passers had any talented receivers on the other end of the throw?
I don't remember seeing any asterisks by SEC running back names to acknowledge dominating offensive lines when invitations to the Heisman Award Show are mailed out each year. In fact, there is never a mention of anything of the sort.

Can't fix stupid. Just look at the Texans last year

May 15, 2014, 8:05 AM

they had Andre Johnson and Nuk along with very good TEs and yet their offense was horrible because the QB sucked. A great WR can do nothing if the QB can't hit water standing in a boat.

They grabbed the QB from Pitt I believe

Never really saw the guy play but that's the Qb they decided to go with. FWIW he's 6'5" and 230 lbs so maybe that is a main reason.

Drafted the QB from Pitt

Savage is his last name. And Matt Schaub is now a Raider.

They're going to tank for Famous Jameis.***

The Texans definitely have QB issues....

In fact, for the first time in franchise history, the Texans are entering a season legitimately without a set starting quarterback, or at least without one presumably tied to the team's future as the long-term starting quarterback.

The Texans traded Matt Schaub, their starter since 2007, in the offseason after a terrible year in which he was benched after six games.

Case Keenum took over after that, but he wasn’t the answer either and the Texans tied the worst record in franchise history at 2-14 after making their first two playoff appearances in the previous two seasons.

The Texans signed veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in the offseason, but he probably isn’t the long-term solution to their quarterback woes either.

They drafted Tom Savage from Pitt but he is widely regarded as something of a project to succeed in the NFL.

Granted, he didn't have a great supporting cast around him at Pitt which likely contributed to his mediocre stats. He's a decent QB but not spectacular. Frankly, I think Boyd is the better of the two but for some reason the Texans didn't ask me so what do I know.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

A lot of truth in that - great receivers really helped Tajh!***

Luckily, he will continue to have NFL quality receivers to throw to.

If Tajh's receivers had dropped a bunch and were rated

May 15, 2014, 9:10 AM

pathetic would this DA reporter be giving Tajh the benefit of the doubt and say Tajh is a great QB and would be a Pro quality QB if he only had decent WRs? I vote nope.

Willie Totten was considered a super college QB ... once in the NFL we could all see that Jerry Rice had a lot to do with that.

Tajh has succeeded with a variety of receivers - I conclude that he will do fine in the NFL.

It's not like Mike Evans
