NCAA Rules ???

wondering if this is correct ( at least this is what I think the NCAA rules are??? )
Baseball -- player can be drafted pro, straight out of high school ?? ( if he decides to attend college,he must play for 3 years ) before he is eligible for draft ??
Basketball -- player must attend college 1 year, ( or sit out a season / jr.college, prep school,,ect, ) before he is eligible for the pro draft ??
Football -- must attend college for 3 years, ( or sit out, attend jr.college, prep school, ect ) before he is eligible for draft ??
has the NCAA ever considered or voted to require all amateur athletes, in the three major sports, to attend college for a minimum of 3 years, before draft eligible ?? -- just asking for a friend**

It is not up to the NCAA.

Correct, all of the rules stipulated are based on the

professional leagues themselves. NCAA doesn't have any say in the matter.

the pro leagues make the rules, not the NCAA. All the NCAA can do is make players INELIGIBLE as an amateur.

I don't believe the NCAA has any jurisdiction when it comes to the eligibility of being drafted. I wish the NCAA would get rid of the rule.

Each professional sport has it's own rules,as far as drafting eligible amateurs** I learn something everyday !!! --
the NCAA would only step in to declare a player not-eligible to play amateur sports,if he has played for money / pay / rewards, ect. ??
the league & officials can vote on a change as they see fit - correct ??
wish, all players had to stay in school, minimum 3 years ( selfish wish for me* )

It would seem that you could have the players commit to playing for however many years and then if a team of whatever sport wants to draft that player....then they owe the school X dollars.

In baseball, the 3 years rule only applies if the sign with a 4 year college. It's not uncommon for some good players going with Jr Colleges oUt of high school so they don't have to wait 3 years
