Have a cupcake before we play Auburn next year?
I know, looking wayyyy too far ahead, but just had the discussion after seeing all the backups playing. Everyone keeps saying Cooper is going to be the starter, but he will not have had any gametime experience. If it is Cooper and he is that good to beat out Bryant and Israel, would it be better to have the element of the unknown or for aubie to have some film on him and have him get a game under his belt? I like the cupcake game first, personally. Get some live reps. D should be outstanding again.

The great thing about being a fan...you're allowed to look ahead. Contribute to the conversation or keep to yourself leftie.
As for OP, I've always liked a tune up game, personally. Don't know if we even have a choice though. Isn't it already scheduled as the first game for both teams?

Yes, agree ^ looking way too far ahead and it would be an advantage to have a cupcake before Auburn. Even if it's Kelly or Israel, they haven't had many "big game" reps either - they've gotten game experience but there's a difference between second half Syracuse and home opener vs. Auburn. At least it's at home and the crowd can pull him through. Defense next year is going to be top 5 in the country, we are going to win a lot of games on the defensive side of the ball

Cooper will be third in line next year. He good but no playing experience. Bryant be number one then Israel then cooper. There a reason he not playing any snaps this year. He have a chance to play and start next year but it won't be the first game.

Don't forget Hunter Johnson coming in behind Cooper who suppose to be the next Deshaun but we see.

Id rather it be our and their first game. We are at home and I think we will be more prepared coming out of the gate the AU. Now if we could have a tune up and have it be AU first game, that would be ideal.

Not saying you are wrong about why we are not seeing Cooper, but do you know he will not be ahead of the other two already on campus? I'm play hard for KB2, but nothing has shown me a great deal of confidence in him. I hope I'm wrong.
