to objectively examine the facts present in this huge matchup. However, there is a line between trying to undermine our achievements and being pessimistic, and being objective.
For me, I still see us losing this game. Closely, albeit, but until we prove we can beat a #1 team in Tally, no less, I have my doubts.
I will be rooting like all hell though and will still be a diehard tiger regardless of the outcome.

Honestly I see it likely we lose. I also think (as I imagine you do as well) that we can win. But that doesn't change the objective feeling I have.
Tigers prove me wrong. You have before and I'd welcome it here.

were last year and they are without their starting QB for the first half. No Lamarcus Joyner this year, no Kelvin Benjamin to bailout Winston.

I believe that divine intervention could allow us to win as was the case in the 2013 Iron Bowl game.

What an opportunity this team has on Saturday night. I hope the guys play hard, smart, and to their potential and it could be a magical night for the Tigers. It's time to show the nation that we don't have to rebuild at Clemson anymore...we reload!

Hey Bill, speak for yourself.Personally,I am a realist, and I see us losing a close game in Tallahassee, even with Winston sitting out the first half.

It's more about faith than reason.

Woah there, I [believe we will win too.
It's about faith, Sir William da Honorable. That's why Rev's sermons draw so much attention and satisfy the soul. They are all sensational and designed to invoke emotions which are counter to logic and sound reason.
That's why it's called Faith: 'Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.'
Now faith is the substance (something real) of things hoped for, the evidence (think court room and what convicts or exonerates) of things not seen.
'Without faith it is impossible to please God.' Not that that has anything to do with it, maybe.

Do you really think the God that Created all of the Universe

s answers football prayers? How many Children die of Cancer daily? How many suffer intense pain before dying. A lot! How many Parents pray that they will get better? A lot! Still they go down hill and die. I really don't think Football is high on Gods list of concerns

One of us missed something. I apologize.

I believe that God cares about everyone and everything but I don't think he cares more about one team than another. I do not think prayer changes anything but the prayer.
Prayer has several precious and wonderful effects on us. It puts us in touch with God and makes us aware that He alone sits on His throne. (Runs His Universe as He pleases without respect to our begging for things to be as we please when our wishes and wants are contrary to His will) That is what builds our trust in Him
It also makes us love one another which is why we are instructed to pray for one another. If we have such a slight chance of making alterations to God's will why else would we pray for one another?
Football along with everything else in this universe is high on God's list of concerns. Not that he does or doesn't care about the outcome so much as His concern for each and every player on both teams.
He knows where each and every atom and sub atomic particle in the universe was at the creation and knows where they will be at the end of it all. He also knows every move they have or will make between the two events. He is not subject to time. He sees time as a line with the beginning and end occurring simultaneously.
My God created the Universe by translating His power into matter and by His power does the Universe continue to exist. He does these continuously and His power is not diminished with that action.
I'll be happy to discus the issue of cancer, death and such with you but I'd suggest this forum is a place of distraction and therefor is not suitable for such. That includes the P&R bored.

I would be more Confident of a Win if Watson had Started

from the get go of the season. Now we go into the FSU game with the coaches backed into a corner concerning the QB. I feel they will leave Cole in too long. FSU will have the momentum. FSU, at home with the momentum, is not a good thing even if they do finally put DW in. I hope Cole has learned the quick release method or he is a sitting duck. Cole worked well with the OL and receivers we had last year. That is why I wanted him in last year. Whole different story this year. This year you need a quick running and a quick passing QB. You need a QB that doesn't panic. You need DW....

I wanted Cole to play more last year too. It's was only when Tajh had a brain fart though. I learned something about Dabo when Cole started this year. I learned that Dabo played the best man last year and I was so wrong about Cole taking Tajh's place in tough situations.
I also learned something about myself, I'm not as sharp as Dabo when it comes to picking the best man for the job. That's why I'm behind Dabo's decision on who plays and when, 110% this year. Some people never learn. Don't be one of them.

You're exactly right, Jack. Stoudt couldn't start over a QB

that isn't on an NFL roster after his senior season, therefore has no business being the Clemson Tigers Football Starting Quarterback over a 15-star DeShaun Watson who has already proven what a talent he his.
Either Watson starts vs FSU or Dabo should be sent back to 'Bama in his walk-on 5th-string WR jersey.
No joke.

I wouldn't say cowards, Bill ... but afraid of possibilities
Sep 19, 2014, 7:46 AM
|
|
Unable or unwilling to process the possibility that a program-defining moment is at hand, that there is nothng ... absolutely NOTHING to be gain be saying "I'm a realist and realistically, we'll lose."
They are afraid that if they embrace victory here, then perhaps they will have to embrace it in all aspects of life. That suddenly they cannot say, "Well realistically I shouldn't even ask that girl out, because there's NO WAY she'd say yes." Or "Realistically, I can't get that contract, so why even try."
When you begin to understand that everything is possible, it removes many of the cushions of self-defeatism cloaked in "reaslism."
The only realism at hand here is Florida State will lose sometime. This is as good a time as any, and we are as good a weapon of karmic justice the world can have.
And I, for one, find no solace or comfort in believing otherwise.
I trust the Sons of Clemson feel the same.
