Tiger fan just stated Ga's running game will be more than D

can handle. I'm not totally convinced that he's wrong after remembering seeing Gurley & Co run the ball last season.
I knew we (NC & others) were going to regret not being able to sign this talent out of NC..and I think we will regret it more this & next year when he pounds our D.
However, I have strong feelings that overall Clemson will do just fine with Ga..from both sides of the ball..and the game should be very competitive down to the final second.
What say Y'all?!

This will really be the matchup that determines the game IMO.
Clemson's offense will do well against UGA's inexperienced defense, no way around it. UGA's best chance on defense will be playing keep away with a ball control offense, and in order for them to do that, they'll have to get Gurley and Marshall going.

Remember hearing the same thing about LSU with a defense that should be even stronger now...wonder how that 99 yards felt.

I thought LSU with their stable of backs would run it enough

to hit us with big passes. We dodged a bullet when they had a guy break free over the middle on a barely over thrown ball. A good pass would have been 6 and the ball game. But, that was one play they MISSED. We had two killer plays that kept them in it. And, they just did not manhandle us with their running game. If Murray has his usual bad game on a big stage, we will be in good shape. I expect us to score 30 or more.

Aaron Murray is an average QB that was priveleged with some strong recievers, but he is not going to be the best QB we have faced. Plus, when he says "Clowney gives me mightmares", well, one good sack by our D will solve any issues we may have with Murray.
Gershall is a beast of a runningback. Very physical. He needs to be our main concern, as well as clock management. We stop their run and control the clock, Clemson wins.

"Clowney gives me nightmares" -Aaron Murray before the USuC vs. UGAy game.
Or my favorite quote by Murray, "Does this purse look good with my girl pants?" Murray asked as he posed for the picture his boyfriend was taking...

,and that by using a combination of these guys, will meet or exceed the rushing yardage of their gurley & co tailback system - if we don't light them up through the air and have to use the run just to let our wr's and t.e.'s get a break! and i'm just half joking! i just think that hotrod is better than people are giving him credit for, and he will respond by giving us a show against uga, to let any naysayers know he is for real.

I see no reason we can't as well. Plus, they'll be playing catch up and won't have time to run the ball as much as they would like.

GA is a beast offensively. The have the whole package. I would think CU had better jump on them early if not the odds of winning will decline by the quarter.

game goes on. it has an cumulative effect. uga's defense will be getting gassed by the late 3rd and into the 4th qtrs., opening up even more holes and passing lanes.

Last year and previous years the running QB has killed us. We seemed to stop the " normal running game" fairly well. I hope they decide to run the ball because the pass still worries the heck out of me until I see otherwise from our young secondary.

Our run defense
Jun 22, 2013, 8:51 AM
|
|
Will be tested in the opener...but Murray and co will need to keep up because Tajh and the Chad have been handed the gift of an already inexperienced Dawg defense losing its most experienced DB and another returning starter . I just like the home team in this one...plain and simple. Gurshall and Murray will have their sayso in the opener at Athens against the Dirtpeckers the week after.

Improved as its the 2nd year under BV and let's be honest, the secondary has nowhere to go but up so if we continue on the improvement curve we stayed on the 2nd half last year our D will be better than anyone is thinking. Now factor that in coupled with the fact that the STRONGEST part of our D last year was run D..... Well my friend that equals one thing. Them puppy dawgs better get used to running with their tail between their legs because that's the way they're going to run all the way back to Athens after receiving their @as whippin' Aug 31. Herschel Walker ain't coming through that door.... Oh wait, let him... Even he couldn't score in the Valley. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Stack the BOX!!!
And force Murray to throw it.
Murray is average at best in big games. And he will not beat us.
Stop the horses....win the game!
It is that simple!!
Go Tigers!!!

or Murray will eat our secondary alive. Our D hopefully will be able to get some key stops here and there and our Offense better maximize opportunities.

He is probably meaning the player that is suspended for the cu game and his backup that just had a knee injury.

Thats what I figured, but Swann is our most experienced DB not Clemons. Either way though it's a scary situation for our secondary this year.

however, experience won't be there by the 1st game of the year, and when we go 5 wide, or fast, depth will be a very real concern for you guys. our "o" can put a hurtin' on some people, one way or the other,if they can't sub out with equally as talented players (see lsu)!

Their running game is no joke. However, we don't suck against the run like we did in 2011.
Now our backfield is patchy, but I expect that to have improved over Spring/Summer.
I like our chances.
