Lots of KUDOS to DJ for a great game on Saturday! In the midst of Rev Dodd's Gee-Hawd, DJ carried the Good Guys to the Win! We all know DJ has had to endure a lot of adversity and negativity from the media - and even from some Clemson fans. After carrying the team to an emotional win with his great play, he was interviewed on the TV broadcast. Hopefully, everyone has had a chance to see DJ's ABC interview after the game. (Fortunately, they did not cut away from his interview for An Aaron Judge at-bat.) DJ gave full credit to his teammates. Very Humble! Given all of the adversity, if I were in that situation, I only hope that I could have such grace and humility at my old age now - let alone as a young adult in college. Sports Illustrated has posted a really good article on DJ's game from Saturday. It also provides comments from DJ giving the credit to his teammates. What a GREAT representative for Clemson!!! https://www.si.com/college/clemson/football/when-defense-needed-it-most-dj-uiagalelei-and-clemson-offense-stepped-up-bigThe Clemson offense, led by quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, stepped up in a big way in the double overtime win over Wake Forest, and did so when the defense needed it most. Well said! His interview post Wake said a lot to me about who he is as a Human Being! This is the type of kid you want on your side if things go sideways. I was very impressed with his poise and humility as well. The reporters kind of tried to bait him i.m.o a few times to take the "low road" and he refuses each time. It's all about the team and all about giving credit to everybody else. I am and have been a DJU fan the whole time. As you said, "how he did it with all the negative noise is a testament to his character"! Glad we have him at Clemson and don't look now, but it appears he is figuring things out on the field as well! As you also said, "a great representative of the values and moral fiber of Clemson"!
Let's ride out DJU! And Go Tigers!
