He will play the first series in the third quarter. He will come out of the game with Clemson leading 38-0. He will have 200+ yards passing with at least 3 TDs and 0 interceptions.

Stats really don't matter to me.
Just manage the game and complete the passes you should.
Run when it's there and have pocket awareness. A few times a game show the ability to complete the third and long pass. Be a playmaker and avoid the big mistakes.

I hope DJ is 7 for 11 with a buck twenty five passing and 30 yards rushing. If we can run the ball it will be best for our confidence down the road.

I don’t intend to be negative. It may seem negative but I’m just lowering my preseason excitement level from last year.

I think a good indicator of his success against GT (and the season) will be his completion rate. 55% isn't good enough to win the ACC this year, much less make the playoffs. For that matter, it might not keep him in the starter role.
Against GT, I'd love to see our gameplan executed with DJ completing 68% or better, with no more than 1 pick. If that happens, the TDs and yards take care of themselves.

I think the passing numbers could be pretty close, but the rushing numbers seem pretty high. I would expect 2 or 3 sacks that would weigh on those numbers. Even a significantly improved OL likely will have some early season breakdowns that result in sacks.
My prediction is he will play into the early 4th quarter and leave with the score 24-7. My expected stat line would be:
16/27 195 yards
2 td 1 int
14 yards rushing
4 designed runs for 24 yards
2 sacks -10 yard

I think he plays about like last year.
I have never in my life seen a QB as slow as he is. I seriously doubt one of season fixed it.

I think the coaches give him some easy throws to start and take some downfield shots in the second and third quarter. But we rely heavy on the run game.

2021 GT ranked #103 in the country in red zone defense
2021 GT ranked #100 in the country in rush D.
These numbers are abysmal. Let's say they do see some improvement. I doubt it
would be a large improvement in the first game of the season.
They are also one of the teams that provided the tigers with bulletin board material.
The table is set for a classic beatdown of the bees.DJ will have a respectable outing but the numbers won't jump off the page at you. Most of the damage will come on the ground

I did not realize Tech was THAT bad. When we played them the team was healthy and it was still 14-8. The difference was they were still running a style of offense more like when TL was here. The improvement came when they committed to the run, and also committed to not let DJ lose the game. And to think they dropped 70 on them in 20. The shock of last years offense still hasn’t work off for me.
