unc a hand-slapped public admonishment, I sent HD a harsh, critical email asking why she and her fellow journalists aren't jumping on this story. I said something to the effect that she's a typical espn'er in that she's there to promote espn and not necessarily report the news. I called her and her associates at espn pathetic.
I still think she and espn are pathetic but I like this.

Anytime anybody from ESPN is willing to go on record criticizing the SEC, then you have to give them props.
Personally, just like Kirk Herbstreit and many other sports analysts over the years, Heather D. has tried hard to "like" Clemson football, but pretty much every time these folks go out on a limb with praise, our subsequent performance on the field comes back to make them look stupid.
I don't blame them for making us earn their respect. If we win enough that their criticism begins to appear totally unwarranted, then they will change their tune quickly.
Even guys like Gregg Doyel will cease taking shots if we actually ever start to exceed (or even just meet) expectations.
