Someone named Kayla thinks that #### Harpootlian is nothing more than a SC good ole boy who wins all his cases by his extensive connections because he clearly is a terrible trial lawyer.
Third generation Armenian immigrant who has tried 100s of murder cases, probably 500 civil cases and teaches the BAR/BRI course on Criminal Procedure to people trying to pass the SC Bar is basically Luke Duke I guess.
I mean, the guy is an egotistical ####, and he may well have worked his way into the good ol boy network, but MFer put in the work.
I asked Kayla how many cases she has tried. She has yet to get back to me.

The lawyer who smart people think is the dumbest

is the best lawyer. Reminds me of the time I had a case with Willie Gary. Called and reached him on his cell number. We spoke, I offered to send him an email and he said "I'm an old country lawyer, I don't do all that tech stuff, just send a fax."
When he said that I immediately knew. I had never heard of the guy, but when he played dumb I googled him. Bingo. He was probably talking to me from his G6.

prosecuted by overzealous law enforcement who made a whole bunch of mistakes, at least. I'm not saying that's this case necessarily, I don't know it well enough, but what I've seen of the evidence, it's looking more and more like this case.
Also most the innocent ones.
Probably none that had a tightly run investigation and strong evidence.
I mean, like 4 people saw a bunch of tire tracks coming and going and they were not roped off as part of the crime scene? No one investigated the house the same night as the crime, despite apparent permission to do so?

seen about 100 Twitter blasts state "Alex didn't cry at the scene" when one officer said that "he didn't see him cry at the scene".
The leaps they take are impressive.

Enjoyed listening to rekeita/viva talking about this case. What do we think the motivation is here?
I'll hang up and listen.

attention away from the rest of his crimes. Which sounds pretty stupid honestly.
I did hear a hint of a suggestion at one point that he did it to prevent them from having to go through the embarrassment of the trial. Also kind of dumb.
They should probably have just let the jury speculate on motive.

he spends the rest of his days in a resort white-collar prison, or in the State Pen. He's going away regardless with over 100 fraud/theft charges against him.
But he still won't go in gen pop no matter what because he's a lawyer and needs protection from convicts he may have had a hand putting away.

in this case does not equate with them Duke boys. It is a thing that rattles my cage when the term is used even though I know what they mean.
The only real question I have for #### and Jim is why they would put their reputation on the line for this guy when they also claim he has no money to pay them. I know he's got a right to a defense but they could simply directed him to the public defenders office.

if Poot don't get paid a dime on this case, he gets fame. Fame = $$$. Book deals. TV appearances. Consulting fees. You name it.
You still know the names Johnny Cochran, Marcia Clark, Robert Kardashian, etc. don't you?

and Harpo has enough money that he might be doing it for the ego at this point. Oddly, I don't know Jim that well despite having met him a few times, but that's probably just because he doesn't live his life in the public eye.

he's also a high profile criminal defense attorney. He's not doing whatever he's doing for free probably. There is a prominent lexington lawyer who I think has been in Colleton since the start and I don't think he's even in the court room. No idea how his practice is running with him there.
