Did ya'll notice that we had a couple of big hits in that

game against BC and just about every time it ended up with our guys, who laid the hit, getting knocked silly? This is why we don't have more big licks given out by our defense and more deion sanders-like arm tackles. WE can't handle it. Well, now at least I know.
Xavier laid a lick on the RB in the first half on a counter run and Breeland laid a lick on a reciever and came out after his initial celebration. WE gotta recruit some hitters...seems like we have one in geohagen and blanks for the future.

One has nothing to do with the other. The hardlest lick I ever gave in a game was the hardest lick I ever took. It knocked me out and I had a concussion. It was the same for the other guy too.

Mental attitude about hitting and being hit has nothing to

do with what the trauma does to you during a hit. One has nothing to do with the other. To make the comparison is irrational. .

tackle before i go full bore on somebody. To not understand that is irrational. At that point you're more concerned with winning debate than making sense.
Doesn't it make sense to shy away from the big hit and try to trip a dude than sacrificing yourself and running through someone if you know that your body can't handle it?
I'm just saying it makes sense to me now as to why we don't have that big physical defense.

just pointing out obvious reasons why we're not going to contend for a top ten finish..because we would if we had an average defense.

the brunt of it.
Big hits are a roll of the dice the way they protect you from the helmet and shots to the head these days.

I've always loved it when Clemson had guys in the secondary that make the opposing team think about catching the ball over the middle...guys like fudge, miller, pugh, carswell, maxwell, etc...we dont' have that and it shows as to why. I'm not saying you should or could have 4 dudes like that back there, unless you're BAMA but is One guy woudl be nice. Closest one is #11 and am glad he's a freshman.
This is why we are arm tackling and people complain about our tackling. We don't have anyone looking to punish people. And the reason is they aren't built for that type of contact apparently.
