Did anyone else read the article about Shipley when asked about his plans

for next season? I've had the feeling for a while that he would use the portal and reading his comment cemented that belief within me.
I can't see him entering the NFL draft because his stock has declined this season. What would he be now, a day 4 pick?
Here's an exert of the article.
“Great question,” Shipley said. “I think I’ve been trying to stay in the present as much as I can, especially with just how the season has gone and what Coach Swinney preaches to us every day, just being in the now…
“But I’ve definitely thought a little bit about it. It’s something that is inevitable, just the opportunities that are there after this season. But haven’t put enough thought into it, so I wouldn’t be able to give you a great answer right now.”

I agree. I don’t think he is NFL caliber so he will portal in my opinion. And - I would be surprised if it were to a current elite program. Maybe he would be better behind a significantly better o-line, but I’m not sure he is that elite. Whatever he decides - good luck to him. He is a Tiger for life.

I don’t see Ship being an every down back in the NFL. He could help a team, but I don’t see him being above a 3rd or 4th round pick at best, and that’s with an outstanding combine showing.

I don’t see him drafting high enough right now to leave. Why not come back here and get another year? Not sure why anywhere else is a better proving ground than Clemson. Hoping he returns.

He has options, doubt the NFL is one of them for 2024.
He could come back to Clemson.
He could transfer somewhere and play football.
He could transfer somewhere and play Lacrosse.
He could transfer to a few places ( UNC, Notre Dame, Duke, UVA, Penn State) and play both.

I love Shipley and hope he stays. He doesn't seem very happy at Clemson. I don't think he will make it in the NFL. To small and position is not like it what was 10 years ago. Hope he matures. I agree seems a little to immature right now. I think and hope he will stay. Go Tigers.

I 100% understood his comments to imply he was definitely going trans and playing women’s soccer next year. His comments couldn’t be any more crystal clear.
