Deshaun has to be the only QB on the planet that wants to play for the Jets

I don't understand. They're short of talent now, and the amount of draft picks that the Jets would have to give up, they won't be able to restock during Watson's entire contract.
The Jets do have $62 million in cap space, but I'll let Sports Illustrated describe their needs that will never be filled with their cap space:
"The Jets realistically need three starters on the offensive line, a capable pass-catching threat at tight end, at least two wide receivers, an every-down running back, a top-flight pass rusher, a new linebacking core and, depending on how free agency goes, an entirely new defensive backfield. So, just a few tweaks."

Maybe the Jets should just keep Darnold and use all of their draft picks to build. They might even have a top 2 pick next year again.

Either that, or take Fields. They need too much.

Or maybe the only quarterback wanting to get out of a bad situation. I know Rogers isn't happy in Green Bay but he probably will retire and do State Farm commercials. Brady isn't going anywhere, Brees will probably also retire. Trevor could end up there ,depending on what Jacksonville ,oops Myers does with the first pick. So don't be surprised if # 4 or # 16 is in Jet Green next fall.

to move closer to home and have a change of scenery before he throws in the towel.
I really hope Deshaun doesn't waste his time with another loser program. If he can't get to a New orleans or Pittsburgh or Indianapolis or San fran, even a Miami i would just stay put. All those teams will have openings and will have playoff chances. The Jets could build to that but he's already at a place that is a rebuild with a brand new coach with no HC experience.

Prior to the '20 season, the Jets' GM set them up to start making improvements with the '21 draft.
The dimwit of a coach messed up and won 2 games.
The GM and owner basically planned to tank this season, fire the coach, and start building this offseason.
The Jets have picks stacked up this year and next and have the possibility of making a major upgrade in the coaching department.
On the flipside, the Texans have ruined the trust DW had in them and they have also put themselves in such a terrible place with the salary cap and picks that there isn't much they can do to improve things for the next several years.
I know the Jets are thought of as a miserable franchise, and that's pretty much true, but at the moment they are in a better situation than the Texans for the future.

What about if they trade all of those great draft spots for Watson though? What will Watson be walking into?

I'm not an expert on what the Jets have, but I paid a little attention to them when Lawrence was expected to be headed their way.
I think with the combination of being able to swap Watson with Darnold which lots of teams don't have, the Jets would be able to give a couple of picks and still have a little more than their full allotment of draft picks because of previous trades.
For example they have 2 1st round picks this season already. Giving 1 for Watson still allows them to get their standard 1st round pick to go with him this season.
I'm not positive on this but I think they also have 2 2nd round picks this year and maybe 2 1st rounders in the '22 draft as well.
It wouldn't all be roses when Deshaun got there, but they have a lot better situation to build around him for the future than Houston does.

And if Deshaun doesn't get out of Texas he's going to get seriously injured by what they call an OL.

The only ones who have ran with the story of the Jets being Watson's preferred destination has been mainly media tied directly to the Jets. The story hasn't spread like the story of Miami being the preferred destination.
Mainly because Watson's agent was the one who came out and said that Watson wanted to be in Miami. Now a Miami Herald reporter, with a bad track record of pulling rumors out of thin air without anything to back it up with, wrote and article in which he claims that Watson has told "people" that the Jets are his presence. Who are these "people"? Why are they not identified? No one in Watson's camp has confirmed that rumor.
It seems that the Houston Texans would be the only ones who would benefit in the Jets jumping the Dolphins in the preferred ranking order. That would stir the pot and force a bidding war between the Jets and Miami. ESPN hasn't covered that article, neither has FOX. Not that I have see anyway.
I think Miami is still the team to beat, but something needs to be done in order to force those two teams to increase their offers. It's all a ploy.

Top NFL qbs make so much money they could care less where they play. Good pizza and Irish Pubs in NYC anyway.

This is all speculation by reporters. There are other reports today that say he does not want to play for the Jets. Until DW4 speaks, you are just guessing on who to believe.

Bingo. The only ones who have been pushing this story are New York Jets sites and affiliates. The only team that has been named by Watson's agent, has been Miami.
I stated earlier that this only benefits Houston. It's a way to drive up the offers for Watson. I wasn't going to buy it until it was confirmed by Watson's camp. Guess that didn't happen. ??

have a lot of needs, but, unlike Houston, they have a lot of draft capital. Their draft history has been abysmal, but most seem to think they may finally have some actual good football people in the GM and other operations positions now. DW4 was high on the coach they just hired, as well. It could be that the 52 year rebuilding plan is just about to take off.
