seeing a lot of positives here in the 1st half with the D. This zone is allowing us to sell out to stuff the line of scrimmage. On the last TD, I didnt like the 3 man front on 3rd and 9. That was an obvious running down bc BC was in 4 down territory. Too easy for BC to execute there. On the next play, we went to man coverage and gave up the score. At some point its not the DBs fault that they cant hold up in man coverage. If they cant do it then we need to stop expecting them to, and this far into the season, plus what they did last season, we should all know they cant hold up in man coverage. We look better at staying outside of the run to force it back inside, except for a couple times. We dont have the experienced depth to stop BC on 4th down and get right back on the field 1 play later. Didnt like a trick play right there. I like taking a shot, but not forcing it like that. BV has made a couple bad scheme decisions. I would actually put SOME of the defensive mistakes on the coaching staff, not ALL on the players. 21pts and 257yds isnt pretty, but all together I think we're headed in the right direction. Lets see what they can do int he 2nd half. I may be wrong entirely, but I think we'll hold up well enough to get a win. If we can win next week at home vs an awful GT team, then we can go into a BYE week and really work on this new defensive look.

I see 21 points on the board, for them. BC is on pace for 42 points. not good at all.
