Defense

Last season after the orange bowl loss, I kept hearing sooo much about how the defense wasn't prepared or wasn't physical enough. Now that recruiting has started and we got a solid class and now working on 2013, is anyone satisfied with atleast some of the progress Dabo has taken to fix this problem? Everyone is in such an uproar over offering the other grayson safety, I am just happy to see that they are trying to get a few monsters on defense. We KNOW we can score but stopping the other team is key, and defense wins championships.

Strong recruiting is the first step

Without it you can't hope to be competitive. Having a competent staff of assistant coaches and coordinators is also imperative. We seems to be making strides in those areas. Let's see if we really are tougher this season. Let's see if we have a defense this season. If you're right, we should at the very least see more consistency, and no collapse at the end of the regular season like we saw last year. And we shouldn't be getting anally raped in any bowl game, no matter who we're playing.

At this point we have some things to be optomistic about, but we won't really know what we've got until they hit the field. We have no real idea which of the recruits is ready to play at this level, and if any of them are going to pull a Bellamy on us. I'm hopeful about the future - when I see a strong OL with proven depth, I'll be much more confident. When I see that we have a defense capable of stopping somebody, I'll be more confident.

I think this year will be telling for HC Swinney. We're going to find out how good he is this season.

I'll just watch my Tigers and form my own opinions on what I see.

we'll have to wait and see if Watkins, Lawson, Reader or Dodd can add depth to the line. Geohaghan might be ready to play, but the really improvement needs to come from the returning players.

Coach we have. What more can he do at this point.our recruiting is greatly improved and appears to be becoming a regular ting. He has also gone and gotten two of the best coordinators in the country.

all i hear from usuc and the cfb world is about the ob,and how we will never live it down. right. how many people remember that in the 95-96 fiesta bowl(start of bcs) #1 nebraska beat #2 uflorida 62-24, and the very next year in the sugar bowl #3 uflorida defeated #1 fsu 52-20. seems that when a problem arises ( our defense) changes are made. here's looking at redemption for this upcoming year on whoever is unlucky enough to face us in the bcs bowl system (i'm hoping for more than the orange) but we will be in one, and whomever we play will feel the wrath.
