Clemson to Big 12?

Just from the information I'm absorbing off the interwebs we aren't being corted by either of the big two. I'm starting to feel like Clemson, NCSU, VT, and GT may be Big12 bound. I'm not happy but I think we're headed that way.

That basketball confrence will be brutal for Coach Brownell though. He probably won't survive 2 or 3 seasons.

Cobnoxious probably means a mid-major or lower. Some of those are crazy about basketball and would love to have Brad. At less than a third of his current salary,of course, but think of how much he'd be appreciated there! Some things are more important than money.

They already get more money and they'll get a raise before the ACC gets to ask for one. The ACC media contact last longer than the ACC will.

Still more Football concerned schools in Oky State, Texas Tech, W Virginia, BYU, Houston, TCU, Cincinnati and Baylor.

That are bringing in 38,193 fans per game (Cincy) or 36,020 fans per game (Houston). Literally none of their schools bring over 62k per game to the stadium. They average 49,372 fans...ACC averages 45,948 fans. For that level of "football passion" you'd join a conference with no teams within a day's drive? There are nine schools closer to us in the ACC than the closest Big 12 school (Cincy).
I get that some people just hate the ACC no matter what. That's fine. But I can't see a non-emotional reason reason for this belief.

Dang in my mind the BigXII would be fantastic in comparison to where we currently are. I feel they are the 3rd best conference currently in football and solid in basketball. I would figure it would be more money as well!

You think the 31.7 million a year that Fox and ESPN will be splitting for Big 12 games and no full time network for other sports is better than the ACC? The ACC is projected to make more than that in 3-4 years.

Depends on how you describe best. The monster conference in 2 to 3 years will be the Big Ten who now has control around 53% of the TV markets in the US - that's just STAGGERING. They are a coast to coast conference and just read that they could be paying out over $100 million in 2026. I'd much rather see us in the Big Ten for future stability

What happened to all the "insider" info Hood and Williams had? What happened to no way we get left behind?
So they take FSU to power 2 because of recruiting and one good season in last 8? And nointerest in Clemson? Good luck recruiting with North Carolina, South Carolina, FSU, Virginia all in power 2.

The Big 12 would be an outstanding Sports conference to join. They are top notch in basketball very good in football, very good and softball, very good in gymnastics, and very good in baseball. If Virginia Tech, NC state, and Georgia Tech were to follow Clemson that would be a very good landing spot

No it's not. It's a dumpster fire and glorified G5, with absolutely no respect at the national level. We'd be trading one set of marginal football programs for another. There's a reason all the big names have left. You know that very well as an OU fan, and I know that very well as someone who comes from a family of Aggies. The best day in that conference is the say you announce you're leaving.

Based on what information you're getting from the interwebs? Even the Big 10 guy on twitter has said if Clemson makes themselves available, Clemson will be in the P2 (I commented on his tweet last night and he directly answered me with that).
The Big 12 is a glorified G5 at this point with no marquee schools, with no network, and what will end up being a worse TV deal next time negotiations come up, as they've lost all the legit contenders they have. This is not a view from orange tinted glasses, but rather, objective facts and empirical data. Clemson is a Top 10-15 ratings draw in the country, and this realignment is based on eyeballs as the networks are now going DTC due to carriage fees dropping. Clemson is also a program that is Top 15 all time in wins, and has multiple national titles in the modern college football era. There's not a snow balls chance in #### they are left out of the P2, and any information you hear at this point, is just guessing, as no conference is going to make their intentions known until schools are available, bue to the litigious society that we live in.

Lots of Big 12 You Tubers out there trying to prop that desperate conference up. They are still butt hurt that the ACC and PAC tried to align with the Big 10 and left them out in the cold a couple of years back when Texas and OU announced they were leaving. They were gleeful when the PAC blew up and they want nothing more than to dance on the ACC's grave, IMO.
