Only Alabama would get away with Nick Saban testing positive on Wednesday, and on the sideline the following Saturday, claiming he’s “disease free” after three negative tests. Very convenient. This is why people get so pissed off with the Covid info. It’s so convoluted and conflicted.

This doesn’t bother me. Not sure why it would upset you. If the man is negative, he should be allowed to coach his team.
If he is positive, there is no way he would want to be arson his players and risk their availability for future games. I don’t believe Bama is an evil empire on this manner. Just navigating their way through pandemic times like everyone else.

Lol, I’m not jealous! Just pointing out how stupid and nonsensical these policies/rules are. How can these coaches be given and allowed multiple tests in order to get back on the field, but players and students can’t? Saban is given the opportunity to see if it was a false positive. Others aren’t given that. My daughter has a friend at Clemson that tested positive, yet no symptoms, and she had to go into quarantine for 2 weeks, had to have food and groceries brought to her dorm room. Had to wait the two weeks before she could test again.

I'm sure if she had millions of dollars she could get tested multiple times in a week as well.

Covid infected on Wednesday... All well on Friday... But players have to quarantine for 14 days if positive. What a mess has been created.

It’s crazy times. Some Fortune 500 companies paying employees two weeks to stay home for allegedly coming in contact with someone tested positive.
Heck it’s the prime time of deer season, so what the heck!

There’s always a chance it was a false positive if he’s had 2 negative tests since***

They need to make it clear if that's the case.

Ive not seen what type of tests he had. PCR tests are gold standard for diagnosis. The fast antigen tests etc have 30 to 50 % false negatives. So he could have had a PCR that was positive and then fast test negative but actually be positive...or someone screwed up the first test like a lab in Georgia

The reports have been pretty clear. He tested negative 2 times after the positive test. Another negative test today will cause the original test to be deemed a false positive. They are using PCR testing.
There is no way Saban would risk infecting his team. There is nothing to see here other than another instance of unreliable testing.

When a Clemson student tests positive in their weekly tests, they don't give them 2nd and 3rd tests, they have to go straight to quarantine for 2 weeks.

Clemson students aren’t paid $10 million a year to coach a football team. You seriously can’t see the difference in why they would test Saban differently than other people? The same thing would happen for Dabo. These are the conference rules not some special exception for one person.

were false positives because after three negative tests since Wednesday it sure seems that way. Either that or like all the people that have ever worked under Saban - COVID-19 wanted to get away from him as fast as it could.
