Another Dabo data point

This man is special.

If I were to guess, the lack of NIL resources for the last 2 years, at least as compared to the new bluebloods (OSU, some SEC programs, Oregon etc) hasn’t enabled us to pay both recruits and the roster. CDS prioritizes the kids that chose Clemson vs an enticement for recruits. The roster got theirs.

The new system, puts us on better footing with a budget that can pay both. A system that puts on par with the vast majority of programs.

With a level (ish) playing field, Dabo is special, Clemson is special. The man is one of the best at supplying a plan to develop young men.

We will return to the top of the recruiting pyramid. We will still recruit the Clemson man fit and that means a ton of kids don’t make the cut.

I love it. We’re still here. Finebaum is wrong again. Onion headed ######.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I believe the NIL money was always there. From what I remember reading on here, Dabo had to change his philosophy on the use of the NIL money. I am remembering reading that the demise of the 2025 recruiting class caught Dabo off guard and shifted his mindset on paying incoming Freshmen.

I have always felt that Dabo has been more loyal to his players than his players are to him annd Clemson. There appear to be some exceptions but not many. I liked the way that Dabo surgically brought in a few portal players to fill roster holes. Whatever has changed, the results are showing in a positive way.

Dabo started rewarding kids in the program as soon as it became legal to do.

You're right, Clemson is well funded and will remain able to continue to pay players.

The main difference between us and others is that we don't show up if a kid's top priority is money. There's more to life than that.

I don't think that's exactly right.

I believe the first few years of the NIL/Portal business Dabo know what everyone knows now. He and a few others saw that players and programs would soon reach an astounding epiphany.

Now the recruits realize they can be replaced by someone a few bucks cheaper and the programs realized if recruits want to eat the cow rather than milking it they seek a bigger paycheck.

The entire NIL/Portal event turned into an annual auction rather and left recruiting and school selection in the hands of the fat pockets.

It's my submission to Tigernetters that Dabo saw this and didn't recruit because most of those in the portal were behaving like Scrooge McDuck.

Now recruits realize that Clemson isn't going to cut them and buy the next best thing on the market. It seems to me that it's common sense. Imo, Clemson has one of the best funding for football in the nation. We were, 10 years ago and remain on the cutting edge of facility development, coaching salaries, promoting from within and promoting brotherhood for life.

I don't mean to insult anyone who disagrees particularly but some of the nonsense posted here on Tnet show a serious lack of understanding in management, employee relations and just plain common decency.

Dabo was really special when he was humble
