callers just like his decision to not use the portal or ban the use by players of social media does not bother me at all. Nor should it bother you. If it means it gives him the extra something to focus on and win games then I am All In. Go Tigers!!!!!

The portal has the potential to make the team better. Social media bans and listening to questions from blowhard fans does not.
BTW Dabo never banned social media, that was player driven.

My understanding is they have offered a few guys in the portal, but so far few have accepted. Dabo is going to maintain his culture period. He’s not going to offer a cancer just to get a better wideout. I think most of the portal is garbage, and the ones that aren’t are NIL mercenaries , which would most likely go against the culture.
As for the social media blackout, I think the team voted on that. It was not a Dabo edict.

Be the only non service academy FBS program that didn't sign a transfer this year. I know it's difficult, but best is the standard right? Quit telling me about the labor; show me the baby. If we really cared about the portal we wouldn't have Dany Pearman, who wasn't a great recruiter to begin with, manning it pretty much solo.

This is disappointing to me, not because of this particular move, but for the systematic reduction in access and transition to dictatorial media control. First, no freshman could talk. Then, no coordinators could talk. Then, greatly reduced access by the beat writers/media (along with access denial for those in the media who didn’t toe the party line). And now, no call ins. I get the rat poison thing, but sunlight is the best disinfectant. Putting the fans at arms length is not in the best interest of the program.
