I mean, big10 and sec are saying in addition to 9 game conference schedule they will also require all teams to play 1 power 4 team from another conference.
I guess i dont see dabo's point by going in the past and saying "yeah we always scheduled 2 (10) total in the past anyway"........ummm ok then shouldn't be a big deal? who cares if we play 11, with ND and SC.
seems like an odd comment whatever happend to the old miami anyone anywhere mindset.
I actually think all 12 games should be with a power 4 school, why do garbage games like sam houston state and texas still exist.

That’s a big deal from a budget/ revenue/community economic standpoint. Also no variety I outside schedule. He doesn’t really get into how the schedules are already inequitable in the conference and now your saying 1 team will play 8 come games and the others 9. It’s just beyond dumb for this 17 team league.

9 ACC games + South Carolina =10. Doesn't leave much room for another Power 4 team (LSU, ND, GA) and still be assured of 7 home games (including 2 Power 5). Works against teams whose natural rivarly isn't in ACC (CU, GT, FSU, Miami, SMU, Pitt, etc)

Syracuse played 4 cupcakes non con last year already bucking the ACC requirement in place (8+1) to play at least 1 P4 non con game. Those jokers should be kicked out to even the number of teams to 16.

The goal is to eliminate as many major non-conference games as possible to avoid challenging the narrative surrounding which conference(s) are the best. How can a team like Miami and FSU prove they are on par with the best of the SEC if the chances to beat them are eliminated

Dabo is absolutely correct. It's a dumb move. Last time the ACC AD's approved

a 9-game schedule we saw the immediate cancellation of every meaningful OOC gamed wiped off every team's schedule that mattered. For us, it was Ole Miss and OK State Home and Aways at the time. So we replace those with Cal, Duke and Wake?
Weak. Sauce. Short sighted. 2029 here we come.
The ACC conference is swallowing a poison pill with this. Good riddance if true.

Why do we need to play two cupcakes? We don’t. I’d rather sacrifice a home game every other year for a better schedule every year. I do hate that the OU & UGA games are most likely going away.

So it really doesn’t matter. We’ve just got to get wayyy better before we join the Big 10/SEC. Otherwise, we’ll be dreaming about the good op days playing in the ACC. When we join a real conference they’ll be no more coasting to 9/10 wins like the last few years!

Dabo is right, 11 P4 games makes no sense. I don't see a path forward for a year when we play both Georgia and Notre Dame in a season.

need to go ahead and expand the playoff even more....that way you encourage the early season quality OOC matchups without it really hurting your team. At the end of the day, college football is entertainment to the consumer and we'd all rather see quality matchups than these garbage games.
