His effect on the program has been instantaneously impactful, and he continues to rebuild this program from the trenches.

If Dabo were to ever consider retiring I could see giving Matt Luke the same opportunity Dabo got. And I would be perfectly fine with that.

Didn’t work out great last time he was a HC with a 15-21 record. He’s closer to retirement again than another HC job. He’s right where he needs to be. Matt Luke is a o line whisperer.

Give me Matt Campbell or Jaime Chadwell. Someone younger with some time left on the clock. Maybe even a Neal Brown. Young up and comer.

Matt Campbell would be awesome though I think he's likely a lifer at Iowa State. Don't care for Chadwell.

Marcus Freeman would be an awesome up and comer to land if we had to start looking today. Heck, Garrett Riley could be considered as a potential in-house option if we wanted to go that route.

Hope we don't have to think about it for another 10-15 years.

No. I think Dabo is going to coach long enough too 20 all time in wins. That will be another 9 or 10 seasons.

With 65 being a reasonable exit age..he could be at CU FB a solid 10 years..

With probably 1 more Natty and several top 4 runs.

Not just that but offering no rebuttal or anything to contribute to the thread. It was just a simple question for sports discussion board during a slow period where the best thing to discuss is random hypotheticals.

Luke was like 15-21 as head coach at Ole Miss. He had one 6-6 season and then 2 losing seasons.He may be a better assistant than head coach but they only gave him 3 seasons and he probably wasn't left with a full cupboard.

A good assistant coach is right up there with the backup QB...especially if the QB's a freshman. One can be exceedingly popular with the masses when they've put very little 'skin in the game'. Of course, like puppies, it's a short shelf life!

He’s certainly thriving at Clemson. I really like Matt Luke. My ole miss friends really like him too.

He had a pretty terrible situation at ole miss and thankfully he landed here. I’m bullish on him - he’s recruiting at one of the highest levels we’ve ever seen here and the O-line continues to improve.

I’d be happy if he was our next HC - but I’m really glad where he is now.
