Lets say you're a teacher ( which I am in real life) what grade to you give

the team for the regular season. Not Saturday but the whole year. Personally I give them a C. The started badly (D) and finished strong (B ) over the wins but there was enough poor play and problems that offset the solid finish. What do the rest of you think?

Overall I'd give them a C+
The offense wasn't as bad as it is made out to be but they turned the ball over WAAAAAY too much so they didn't score as much as they could.
With the exception of the Duke game, the defense was stellar.
Special teams, virtually no explosive plays, missed field goals, shanked punts... but a few gems mixed in there and they ended with a good game.

Agree. Tough start. Strong finish. I’d probably say B- overall. Considering we lost 2 OT games and were so close to finishing 10-2.
However, I give the defense an A. Played well enough to win every game. Just needed a little more on the offensive side this year.

Probably an A- for the defense, D for the offense, B- for the special teams. I give you a D for spelling.

Defense=A (only downside is tackling at times)
Offense =D (positives running game late in the year and using more than the sidelines in the passing game this year. Still missing the deep ball)
Special teams= B- (Swason is the reason this is a B. His punting this year was crazy good. Field goal we’re bad but what a pleasant surprise Saturday night was. Also hamp Greene was very sure handed on punts)

Given that we were a top 10 preseason, expected to win the ACC or at least strongly contend for it, our season has been a disappointment.
We were tending toward a D the first two thirds of the season, but our rebound in the last third got us to a C, C-minus.

C is way too generous. Lots of teams would have been better when you play the "if" game. So let's play this if game. IF we didn't have a NFL defense, we'd have won 3 games this year. Saying with a good, not great D, our offense would have beat 2 fcs teams and 1 p5 team. So we're a lot closer to being 4-8 with our offense than we are to being 10-2.

It's a simple grading system which starts at 100% as an A+, drops to an A at 97 then A-at 93...all the way down to a D- at 60. We won 8 games of 12 or scored a solid 66.7. If you round up it's just below a D+.
D!
IMO, you're just feeling sorry for the mentally challenged team this season. Who loses games over short FG misses or fumbles at the goal lines? That's not something to be ignored.

won 75% thats a C. And no I never grade on a curve. I debated D but I enjoyed what we did to ND also.

on offense. Special Teams / Kicking game barely a D. They only squeaked that out by Acing the final test Saturday, for a change. They were like me in that last Organic Chemistry class, flunking and sucking wind BADLY prior to that.
