What grade would you give Tom Allen?

I’ll start - D
It seems to be he is not aggressive enough. I have watched replays and he rarely rushes more than 4. I don’t know why.
Knowing that Jennings was hobbled with his ankle, why didn’t we we put more pressure on him. This is so unlike Clemson football.

Ill give him a C…same as I’d give Wes. Its not Alans team, the guys have been in Wes’ system and its his first year, he brought 1 guy from Purdue and he’s by far the best player on the D. A grade of C wont get it done nowadays so he has to improve dramatically next season. Hopefully we get rid of the awful safety and corner coaches we have and he can bring his choice of assistants in. Personally I’d put it straight to Dabo, let me get who I want and stay out of the way or I’ll let you hold it when we tank.

Same grade as the meat served at Taco Bell. D. But willing to give him time. Hopefully he can bring in some of his own coaches.

Speaking of grade D, I will never forget my freshman year walking past a food truck unloading a delivery to Harcombe and seeing on the side of a box, “grade D, but edible”. Ah, the steaks at Harcombe…..

D+ reason why they are still getting run on a lot I think he need to be more aggressive on blitz packages if you give a QB more than 4 to 5 sec. in the pocket, he will find someone open make these young men work out more in the summer reason they being push around by the offense line to much we need to be fast defense is slow this year we need some speed man last thing I think it takes a year to learn a new D/C schemes Dabo need to look at his Head Strength and Conditioning Coach last thing this is for the whole team coaches need to develop players more and be more physical on both side of the ball

He a solid resume over his career I would like to see him have a chance with a staff of his choice. I would like to see him be more aggressive as well

since it's his first year and these aren't his guys (you can't turn chicken ##### into chicken salad as they say) and the offense is, once again, terri-bad and not giving his side of the ball any help.
But even with all that considered, he certainly hasn't improved things as we thought he would.
On the positive side, he's held a lot of teams to scores that if we had a decent offense we SHOULD have won.

C you cant plug the wes goodwin sieve in a year. give him time to get his recruits coached up and his method to become systemic. it took the legendary BV some time too. Not saying Allen is Venables but we won't know it until it becomes "his" product. Likewise it wasn't obvious that goodwin was a flop as dc until BV's trained guys thinned out of the system.

So far he seems to be Pork Chop with a megaphone. He never shuts up and the players have tuned him out.
