we deserve it after yesterday. surprised we could ride that diaster into playing the first day. I have zero symapathy for us

I think you're right. If FSU wins, Syracuse drops to 3 (because of 1-1 regular season v. Duke, but Duke's win over UVA). Our best win would be over #2 Duke compared to FSUs best win over #3 Syracuse. If Syracuse wins we are in over FSU based on record.

If Cuse had lost they would've been in a 3 way tie with UNC and Duke at 13-5. The first step of that tiebreaker is record among the combined teams.

UNC  : 1-2
DUKE : 2-2
CUSE : 2-1


Thus Cuse would've been 2nd, Duke 3rd, and UNC 4th.

And FSU's hypothetical win over Cuse would've given them 6th.

Doesn't matter now as FSU lost, but they were playing for 6th
