What in the world are you flapping on about? Do you think the students with the mini bottles on the hill were drunk enough to think the tiger was real?

I think he is well liked by those groups for the most part.

He is accessible and a good listener even when he has to make unpopular decisions. The groups you mention are not nearly as focused on athletics as those of us on this board, needless to say. He is also hugely popular with the Board of Trustees. He has always been an ACC man through and through.

When I was in school a few groups I was involved in had events at the President's house and Barker always took the time to speak to everyone who wanted to talk to him, even with hundreds of guests in attendance. When I spoke to him he seemed nice and quite genuine. He'd be a pretty good politician if he wanted to do that.

I lost respect when he manipulated the US News results to get a higher ranking. If he wants to be President at an Ivy league school maybe he should do that

like fraud & gross cheating.
He also devalued football & athletics in general, despite the desires of fans & alumni.

One of my daughters graduated in 2009 and one in 2011. They both like him as did most of their friends. Barker played the game with the rankings just as probably most presidents do. He didn't break the rules but he probably went too far. At the end of the day I would rather have a president thinking about Clemson instead of his next job like most college presidents.

CBS news college rankings article mentioned 4 schools known for cheating and Clemson was the first one named. Pres. Barker doesn't believe rules apply to him. Thus he has no problem manipulating rankings or saying screw it to the rule that the Tiger doen not take off the Tiger head. This had never been done in the history of our mascot until Barker decided he was bigger than Clemson and he would do what he wanted to to being attention to himself.

I loved when he took the head off. I don't care what the circumstance it was awesome, that he was trying to connect with the students like that, I have told my friends from other schools and they think it's the coolest thing. I'm in favor of him, he is a Clemson man and he tries to do what's best for this school so I support him.

The guy is over 50 and sweating his a$$ off to get the students riled up and that's what you have??? Tell me exactly how Barker cheated. I believe he rated Clemson really high and some other schools really low. Taking advantage of the rules yes. Breaking them? Post proof.

I know The Tiger used to get out of sight before he removed

his head - to this day I don't recall ever seeing a headless Tiger.
But I know my kids never thought it was anything but a person in a Tiger suit. At an early age (3 maybe) they would look into the eye hole or The Tiger's mouth to try to see the person inside.
People are giving you grief, but I get your point. But I think even young kids know The Tiger is a person.
