Reputation and one dimensional offenses

He says things more to get reaction. He definitely wants to be controversial.

But he may be right that the SEC gets more credit for reputation than performance. Even when they are loosing - like UF was to FSU - people still gush over them.

I like the fact that he owned up to being the guy carrying the banner several years back. And from 2010-2012 they probably would beat up on a lot of conferences with the exception of a school or two at the top.

But I've seen some numbers from all Power 5 conferences put out today and if you remove the name from column, they're all almost identical, which sounds about right. There's not a huge discrepancy between the top 3-6 teams in every league, and everyone's bad teams are just that, bad.

Very few "good" teams in the country. Clemson, Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio State, Stanford, would all probably win in any league because they're good. And those 9-3 teams would probably be 9-3 in nearly any league. It's just a bad look when ESPN pays a lot of money to broadcast a network devoted entirely to one league.

That's why he's gone from ESPN.***

He definitely likes to stir the pot, but he's also at least

partially correct about this. The SEC had one good week this year and that was week 1 when Bama beat Wisconsin, Auburn beat Louisville (who beat themselves really), and A&M beat an Arizona St team that went 6-6 and wasn't nearly as good as most predicted.
