COVID-19 Stadium Seating

May 28, 2020, 7:49 AM

I read that there is a modified seating plan under consideration for Clemson's football season. I assume that plan would have space between each single or group of ticket holders.

I also see that some tickets are already being sold on stubhub with no restrictions on seating separation.

What on earth will they do to enforce a modified seating plan when there are already ticket holders with assigned seats? If they try to nullify some seat assignments, there will be a huge uproar.

Any news on this idea of modified seating?

From DRad, 5.26.20 - speaks of refunds...

Yes - that's what I read.

I get that a seating plan can be drawn that incorporates spacing, but after tickets are purchased, it's a huge problem to untangle.

As an example, if I buy 4 tickets that are now available on stubhub and are together and someone decides to enact the plan, that might mean that either 3 of the 4 can't attend - or we might have to prove that we are in the same immediate family. That's a problem any way you try to resolve it.... and any resolution of one situation will affect an adjacent seating group and that would affect the next group.

It would be impossible (I think) to straighten it out once some tickets are sold.

And? It's a cluster, no doubt, refunds or exchange...

for a rotating home schedule will probably be in order.

~60,000 students & donors already ALL IN for the season. Houston...

It'll work out, feelings will be hurt.

Any reduction which voids some percentage of tickets will be disruptive. That said, I'd think it would be easy to do.

I buy 2 tickets for 7 games = 14 total tickets. A decision is made to reduce the number of tickets sold. Clemson sends me 2 tickets for 3 games only. Clemson then refunds me for the tickets I did not get.

No tickets have been issued yet. In view of all that has been said, it would seem foolish to me for someone to sell tickets they do not yet have in hand or for anyone to buy tickets at this point.
If someone buys or sells now anyway, and the tickets cannot be delivered, then stubhub or the other electronic ticket brokers would at a minimum claw the money back from the seller and refund it to the buyer.

Fun? NO. Possible to execute? YES

sounds like a look of work and in a short window of time

to get all that organized. I'll just say this, keep your complaints to a minimum b/c the more of a hassle it becomes the more likely they'll just scrap the whole season.

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO CLEMSON GAMES SINCE 1963 AND SOMEHOW I AM STILL STANDING THROUGH ALL THE BUGS AND VIRUSES AND HURRICANES AND ANY OTHER THING NATURE COULD THROW AT US. LIFE IS A GAMBLE. WE ALL WENT TO GAMES WHEN THE HONG KONG, SWINE AND OTHERS WERE GOING ON. YOU LIVE LIFE THE WAY YOU SEE FIT. IF YOU ARE IN A GROUP THAT DOES NOT THINK IT IS SAFE BY ALL MEANS STAY AWAY. BUT WHY RUIN IT FOR OTHERS THAT ARE WILLING TO GO AND ENJOY SOMETHING THEY LOVE.

Iowa State has announced their plans. I assume other schools will as well.
