White helmets with orange paws.
Let's make it happen!
Amd update those britches from the 1950s.
I'm thinking solid coloring (white or orange) with paws down the side.
What do yall think?

As for pants, yes, we need to update those . . . they're more like from the 70's and not the 50's, but they were a bad retro attempt by Dabo from the start.

And for agreeing on the pants. If you look across the ACC and beyond, miat teams have replaced the tired old strips eoth the teams name or logo going down the side. I'd love to see Tigers paws down the side.

As for helmets, I must confess that I don't really think the white helmets would look bad, they could design one that would look good (I've seen some concepts). I do, however, have a couple of "philosophical" preferences when it comes to uniforms. While I do like all kinds of jersey/pants combos and variety, I am a firm believer that the helmet should be the one element without variance from week to week. That's just my preference.
Also, and I know this is weird, but I never liked the idea of white helmets for anyone. I sort of think every team ought to have one of their team colors for their helmets. So for example, I think Auburn ought to have Navy helmets with orange and white stripes and lettering. Maybe I'm weird on that, though.
I don't really think stripes necessarily seem old or tired b/c they've been used in so many different eras. The problem is, they can be done in a boring way. Clemson has a secondary color, so I'm not sure why we saw the need to scale back to the simple 2-orange stripe pattern. Ohio State's stripe pattern looks good in any era. So does viritually any team with more than a simple 1 or 2 stripe combo. Florida's pants 5-stripe pants are cool, and ours were in the 80's up through 1991.
What I really didn't like was the "piping" stripes we had from around 05-09 or so. Ugh.

Retro futurism has been the trend the last 10 years with college football uniforms. It’s gone back to the 80’s/90’s classics for many teams. The Nike trend set in the late 90’s with the Broncos and the Canes and those half stripes and curved piping on the pants and jerseys seemed cool for a minute. But was beaten do death.
Bowden ruined our uniforms in 2005. An iconic look flushed down the toilet. He even made the Paw smaller on the helmets. Remember Jad Dean modeling the new uniforms? Meme’d instantly.
I was so glad Dabo brought back the timeless Clemson look. The only thing missing from the uniforms has been the dark stripe on the pants between the 2 orange stripes like the picture above.
Look at the white pants from 82-04 to see the best look, IMO.
And I know that no one asked, but please burn the purple jerseys and pants. It’s only tolerable as an accent color IMO.

Yeah, the half and flared stripes like the Broncos had were crap. I thought they were crap from the start.
Totoally agreed on Bowden. Small paw was dumb, piping was lame.
I do like that Dabo brought back the classic style, but I didn't like that after all those years (as you pointed out '82-'04) of the 3/5 stripe pattern on the pants, he went back to just double orange for the whites. It's weak.
I love the purple though. Remember this in 1991. And the purple on white combo looked so much better with the 3/5 stripe pattern on the pants.
So yeah, purple all the way, man!

They do look better with those white pants, for sure. If I’m being honest, my dislike of purple uniforms comes from the modern coaches that reintroduced them. Hatfield and Bowden. Not a lot of great memories, especially Hatfield.

the 29-19 game in which the purple jerseys were introduced in '91 was pretty good.
And the 45-37 game at NCSU in 2001 in which the purple pants were introduced were pretty good. Ironic that both were introduced against NC state ten years apart.
Bowden and Hatfield had their moments, despite being underwhelming in TB's case and disappointing in KH's case.
But I find it pretty easy to remember great moments fondly independent of what coach they were under. Think about it, there were some great moments under both those coaches. Remember the 1992 UVa game - down 28-0 and won 29-28? 1990 was a great year, '91 was really good too. I remember the '91 GT game (one of the most memorable Clemson games ever in my opinion a 9-7 win as GT Kicker Scott Scisson missed from 44 yards just a few minutes afer GT blocked Clemson's PAT. THe UVa game that same year was also great, despite being a tie. We were down by 10 with just a few minutes left, and left for dead. But we came back and UVa missed a FG that could have won them the game.
And there were bright moments under TB too. 63-17. The 26-10 win over FSU in 2003. And many others.

Agree. The colors orange and purple clash. They hurt the eyes. Our colors should be orange and white. Orange jerseys and white pants at home, white jerseys and pants on the road. Orange helmets everywhere. This is Alabama's method and it works well. It looks good. Danny Ford loved the white uniforms, saying they were "purdy."

I would reverse the stripes to Orange Purple Orange. But yea, that’s the perfect look for the white pants. I really don’t mind the current ones, but I’d make the stripes a little closer if it’s only going to he 2 stripes.

We could 100% do certain changes to the uniform and make some exciting alternates without straying too far from what works.)
something like this again would bring a nice refresh to the smaller details like the collar.
wearing more purple pants or equipment on the road especially when we play red teams would help us "pop" more and avoid more of a color clash.
as you showed larger orange/purple stripes on the pants helps us "pop" on TV looks sharp and keeps our brand strong.
Honestly instead of a white helmet I'd love a full alternate uniform for military appreciation day, including maybe a purple/alternate helmet that does a good job of acknowledging the sacrifice many alums have made for this great country!
Army/Navy have come out with sharp alternate uniforms especially for the army/navy game without sacrificing tradition. I'd like to see us do something like that.

Absolutely correct. It's about the jimmies and the joes. Whom love a little flash every now and then.
If it was all about tradition and never changing we'd never wear orange pants, still wear navy caps with an orange cross down the middle, or stuck with just numbers instead of the paw.

I never have liked Penn State's Helmet White
with Blue stripe down the middle. I do like
the White Helmet with Blue stripe down middle
and blue numbers on each side. I think it gives
a more traditional look like say Alabama's
signature Helmet.For the record never have cared
for Penn State since Gator Bowl late 80s when
Joe Paterno said something about Danny Ford's
mother pre-game, which was very inappropiate
but Coach Ford told his players told his players
what Paterno said next day Clemson beat the crap
out of Penn State and Paterno by 38 - 0 as best
I recall.

Noticed how folks want to portray Clemson’s uniforms as a time honored tradition of standardization.
That has never been the case unless you just start pulling for Clemson around 2010.
Does no one have google and the ability to look up some of the color combinations of the 90’s and 00’s?
Wouldn’t be a death kneel to do some different stuff to attract 17 yr olds. Has zero affect on the score and really is only a positive

We do need to change the pants. Ones wore in the 80s were badass w navy blue stripe flanked by orange stripes. Maybe purple rather than navy blue
I would, however, be receptive to a throwback uni worn for Homecoming or every other Homecoming.
Having said that…we need to concentrate on being ready for and winning ballgames.
