I'd rather he return kicks than AW. We don't need him getting teed off on all season back there.

Kickoffs, maybe (for T.Brown).
Or … whoever from among the RB unit is not in first or second string (EZ or Adam Randall, or Jay Haynes).
Punt returns, keep it with Mr. Good Hands (Antonio Williams).

Well yes if hes just gonna fair catch everything then thats fine but we don't need our best WR getting hammered all season trying to return punts.

I’m probably being unfair, but I remember T.Brown, as a true FR, getting in on PR duty and fumbling a punt (which he recovered). This was the year when A.Williams got injured early and ended up RSing.
As you know, catching the ball is the absolute must-have. This also means running a long ways on many occasions to get under the ball right before it hits ground and catching it, thus preventing the ball from bouncing downfield for another 10 to 25 yards. A.Williams is superb in these two aspects of catching the ball.
If some C.J.Spiller type of punt returner (superb hands + Road Runner fast) has revealed himself in pre-season practice, then by all means use him instead of Antonio Williams.

He is every bit as shifty as Wesco and has Moore's vision. He will get some time in the slot, but agree with the above, no reason to get Williams banged up. And I would add Brown is better in a phone booth, and is the superior open field runner. He kind of weaves in and out of traffic in 5th gear.

I still wonder what in the world the coaches were thinking when they praised him. Dude apparently never stopped dancing long enough to put the work in. Wonder where he is now.

Looking forward to TB having a great year. Wouldn't be shocked if he winds up being one of the top 3 dudes as good as he was as a freshman. He is super smooth as a runner after the catch. If he had blazing top end speed he would be a future first rounder. Our receiving core is so deep.
Seems he would be solid at PR.

Put the best on the field. There a lot of good players in this group of receivers. You can’t keep them all happy. Trying to consistently play 8 receivers in a game doesn’t help the development of in game chemistry between the QB and his receivers. I feel the same way with our RBs and DL. Great players need to stay engaged and lathered up to excel in games. Sure, early on and in certain situations they might need a break, but for the most part they want and need to be out on the field. You never see the rotation occurring on the OL. That’s because of the need to have the chemistry between them to know what each other is doing. Just my thoughts. Go Tigers 🐅
